The iOS (previously iPhone OS) is a mobile operating system created by Apple Inc.. Originally unveiled in 2007 for the iPhone, it has been extended to support other Apple devices such as the iPod Touch (September 2007), iPad (January 2010) and iPad Mini (November 2012). Currently, there are four Grand Theft Auto games that have been released to iOS. , Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, is available having been re-released due to relatively poor sales of the original Nintendo DS version of the game. Grand Theft Auto III: 10th Year Anniversary Edition and Grand Theft Auto Vice City: 10th Year Anniversary Edition, were released, as the name implies, for ten year anniversary for Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.[1]

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was quietly released onto the App Store at midnight on January 18th, 2010. The game features the same missions available for the Nintendo DS and PSP versions. One difference is the lack of Rockstar Games Social Club - the bonus Xin missions, which were previously only available after completing the main story line, locating the two Lions of Fo and syncing the device to Social Club, are now available without the use of Social Club. A new radio station allowed players to use a custom radio track-list from their iTunes. This version features the enhanced graphics of the PSP version released after the DS iteration, but re-introduces the touch screen functionality of the DS, replacing the quicktime events suplemented in the PSP port.

Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition

Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition was released for iOS devices on December 15th, 2011. The year 2011 marks the tenth year since Grand Theft Auto III was released. The game is essentially a port of Grand Theft Auto III with updated textures and resolution. Otherwise, there are no other obvious changes. Due to the iPhone lacking physical buttons, the developer of the port, War Drum Studios, supplies on-screen touch controls which can be remapped. The game was originally support the iPhone 4S but support has been added for the iPhone 4.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City: 10 Year Anniversary Edition

Grand Theft Auto Vice City: 10 Year Anniversary Edition was released for iOS devices on December 6th, 2012. The year 2012 marks the tenth year since Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was released. The game is essentially a port of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City with updated textures and resolution. Rockstar announced that it would include "native high-resolution graphics and several enhancements unique to the iOS and Android platforms including updated character models and lighting effects, new and more precise firing and targeting options, a fully customizable control layout and native support for retina display devices". The game was supported on iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, all iPad models, 4th and 5th generation iPod Touch.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was released for iOS devices on December 12th, 2013. December 2013 is just 10 months before the 10 year anniversary of the game's release. The game includes massively improved graphics and controls. The player uses touch screen buttons to control although IOS controllers can be used. The game is supported on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, the 5th Gen iPod Touch, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Air, and iPad Mini with Retina iPad Mini with Retina Display. [2]
