The Balaclava is a black three-holed ski-mask that can be worn in Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto V . It can be seen worn by Niko, Packie, Derrick and Michael in the mission, Three Leaf Clover, and becomes available in Niko's wardrobe afterward. Although it is a mask, it is categorized as a hat, however, unlike a hat, the Balaclava will not disappear when Niko enters a car or when a motorcycle helmet is used. But once Niko dies and comes out from the hospital, the Balaclava will not be on his face. Go back to your wardrobe, however, and it will be there. If Niko loses his wanted level with the balaclava on, he will automatically take it off and throw it on the ground. However, it will still be in your wardrobe after that. It is also available in the player's skin in the multi-player mode in The Lost and Damned in different colors. In Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, a gray Balaclava is worn by Carl Johnson during the Burglary Missions, but cannot be found outside of these missions. Although it can obtained via a glitch that occurs when the player starts a Burglary Mission, enters in a barber shop, selects a haircut and waits for the time limit to be over. The Balaclava will disappear if the player gets busted, gets wasted or changes clothes.
There is a similar mask in Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories which can be unlocked by owning a highroller robbery empire building.
The balaclava can also be worn GTA V.
Trivia
- If Niko sustains constant injury from gunfire, the Balaclava will turn white. This is possibly a glitch.
