William Edward "Bill" Fichtner is an American actor of a German ancestry.
Fichtner was born in Mitchel Air Force Base on Long Island, New York on November 27th, 1956. He was raised in Cheektowaga, New York, the son of Patricia A. (née Steitz) and William E. Fichtner.
Beginning his acting career in 1987 as Josh Snyder in the soap opera As the World Turns, Fichtner has an extensive filmography, including Contact, Heat, Armageddon, Go, Equilibrium, Black Hawk Down, The Perfect Storm, The Longest Yard, Crash, Ultraviolet, The Dark Knight and The Lone Ranger; for his role in Crash, Fichtner won a Screen Actors Guild Outstanding Performance Award and a "Best Acting Ensemble" Award from Broadcast Film Critics Choice. He is set to appear in a real life Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie as Eric Sacks/Shredder.
Fichtner also has a career of voice acting in video games, with his most notable role to date being Ken Rosenberg from the Grand Theft Auto series, in which he was credited as Bill Fichtner. He also voiced Logan in 2008's Turok and "Sandman" in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
