CJ! Go down there and show these fools you mean business! Those chumps from the Ballas are sweatin' homies. Go put pressure on 'em.

Cleaning the Hood is a mission in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas given to protagonist Carl Johnson by Sean Johnson.

The mission introduces the "crack" aspect of the storyline, explaining how it has corrupted Los Santos.

Mission

Ryder, Big Smoke, and Sweet are inside Sweet's house, talking about the dealing of crack in the city as CJ arrives. After an agreement, Ryder and CJ decide to take care of business and deal with some of the crack dealers that supply the Grove Street gang members. They first go to see B Dup, as CJ wants to recruit some of his old friends.

Upon arriving, B Dup angrily tells the two to stay out of his place, with Big Bear seen as his "crack slave." CJ attempts to convince him to return to the Grove Street team. Ryder and CJ both go outside and spot a crack dealer nearby selling drugs to Grove Street gang members. They kill him, and Ryder discovers the whereabouts of the dealer's home.

The pair then drives to Crystal Gardens, entering the crack den in Idlewood and beating every Ballas gang member inside. After finishing off everybody witnessing the attack, they head back to Ganton.

Mission objectives

In order to complete the mission the player must:

  • Go to B Dup's crib
  • Go beat up the crack dealer
  • Go to the dealer's place
  • Go beat up the crack dealer
  • Go back to Sweet's house

Tips

  • A good weapon to take along in this mission is the shovel behind Ryder's house.
