Originally known as Komodo Trade & Shipping Corporation, it was a Japanese-run trade and logistics company headed by CEO and businessman, Iwata Komodo. The company dealt in the shipment of various products, including electronics, automobiles, heavy machinery, and other international goods. It's main shipping and storage points were based along the Los Santos coastline in and around the Port of Los Santos, with the headquarters building located in La Puerta, Los Santos.

With the rising crime rate in Los Santos, cargo moving in and out of the port continually fell under threat. Crews and gangs slowly began to target shipments moving through the city, costing the company millions.

The company suffered from multiple attacks on it's shipments. One such attack, now known as the Great Ocean Hijacking, involved the hijacking of a moving shipment of foreign automobiles by an unknown group of armed men. The ensuing police chase ended with the multi-million dollar shipment of vehicles destroyed and five men arrested.

In commercial turmoil, the company began to scale down it's operation. Trading in trucks for small shipping vans, deliveries were more easily protected, but not invulnerable.

Just when the business began to regain it's footing in Los Santos, the final blow came to their operation. An armed crew of eight, headed by a man known only by "Antonio", led an assault on the coastal warehouses of Komodo Trade. After successfully seizing the warehouses with no witnesses, the group moved to the main headquarters building. Following infiltration, the group successfully eliminated most of the workers within the headquarters, as well as Iwata Komodo, who was cornered in his office.

Due to the group's methods the attack went virtually unnoticed, allowing them to take over the business while suffering only two casualties.

Under his new alias of "Tony Komodo", Antonio took over as acting CEO. The company, now renamed Komodo Trade Corps, took on new operations as a black market trade and shipping organization. Under the guise of the former shipping company, they now transport and provide dealers and organizations with weapons, vehicles, body armor, and various illegal products.

The headquarters and shipping points remain the same, with other points of shipping located throughout the city; most prominently Los Santos International Airport.

Reorganization[]

Following months of operation as an underground company, "Tony Komodo" began to restructure Komodo Trade and scale down operations.

Rather than continuing operations as a company, "Komodo" disbanded the majority of divisions within the business and relinquished various transport and shipping vehicles to outside buyers. Much of this restructuring was due to difficulties with keeping order within the company and it's daily operations. Shifting away from large-scale trade was, as well, due in part to the seeing of more value in small-time, varied operations between other clients of the criminal underworld.

With the company reduced to smaller numbers, "Tony Komodo" stepped down as active leader, and enforced a leaderless corps with equal verbal and tactical authority throughout.

Komodo Trade Corps now operates as a small-scale crew of mercenaries-for-hire, working with multiple clients within and outside the Black Market trade. They perform various paid tasks and missions for willing clients, from smuggling operations, to personal security, and contract hits.

Komodo Trade retains a single base of operations out of a warehouse, northeast of Los Santos.
