Possible reasons for removing this track would be that the game wouldn't fit on the three CD's it was sold on, and was removed so the rest of the game could be played in full.

Double Clef FM is a classical radio station from Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. In 1998 the station is hosted by Sergio Boccino, who by 2001 was replaced by Morgan Merryweather. The station plays a selection of popular sequences from various classical operas. The station may be based on WQXR. All the recordings belong to Opera d'Oro Records and Allegro Corporation. Double Clef FM is the favorite radio station of the Leone Family, Sindacco Family and Forelli Family. In GTA III, the in-game name is 'Double Cleff FM'.You can hear Morgan Merryweather in K-Chat talk radio in GTA: Vice City. Morgan Merryweather also appears as a caller on Double Clef FM in GTA Liberty City Stories.

The missing track

There is one track that was removed from the PC version of GTA III for unclear reasons. It is the track "O mio babbino caro", it preceded a commercial for Dormatron.

Morgan describes this track as a "twinkling radiant and marvelous piece". If you listen closely you can hear how the S in piece is cut before it was ended.

Possible reasons for removing this track would be that the game wouldn't fit on the three CD's it was sold on, and was removed so the rest of the game could be played in full. The song played in all trailers for GTA III.
