Earnest Kelly, credited as Old Man Kelly, is a character in Grand Theft Auto series who appears as a supporting character in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Kelly is a long-time worker at the print works in Little Haiti, which would be bought over by Tommy Vercetti.
Earnest Kelly was voiced by George DiCenzo.[1]
Biograpgy
Life up to 1986
Having worked at the print works for a long time, Earnest has always fancied printing money, albeit on a smaller scale.[2]
1986
With the help of Tommy, Earnest acquires high quality printing plates to produce better counterfeit money.[3] It also appears Tommy has a soft spot for the old man, as his own father managed a print works when Vercetti was younger.[4] As a result, Tommy seems to bond with Earnest right after their first meeting.
Tommy shows extreme concern and anger when Earnest is injured by Forelli Family enforcers who have come to take "their cut".[5] Tommy then murders all of the Forelli enforcers, and eventually Sonny Forelli himself, along with Lance Vance.
Some time after the final mission, Tommy receives a phone call from Earnest, who is recovering from his injuries. Telling him, "Tommy, for a raging lunatic you sure are naive," and "I'll be back at work soon. Teach ya a thing or two about life you hear?".
