Michael’s death
In GTA V there are three endings. The endings are determined on your actions and time to complete missions.
- 1 Ending: “Something Sensible”
In this ending, Franklin agrees to eliminate Trevor. Michael and Franklin chase Trevor. Later, Trevor gets stuck under a gasoline truck. The game gives you a decision to shoot the truck or let Trevor die off. If you shoot the gas truck Michael asks Franklin why he shot the truck. If you don't shoot him, Michael will shoot him, causing Trevor to burn to death. Michael and Franklin talk and go their sperate ways. (Video starts at minute 3:30.)
- 2 Ending: “The Time’s Come”
In this ending, Franklin agrees to eliminate Michael. Franklin chases Michael to the top of a tower. Michael points a gun at Franklin. Franklin fights Michael and Michael falls. Franklin starts to regret his decision, but Michael refuses to forgive him and tells him to let him die. The game gives the player a decision to save Michael or let go of Michael. But either way, Michael falls to his death. Franklin walks away and talks to Lamar on the phone. (Video starts at minute 9:12.)
- 3 Ending: “The Third Way”
Franklin, Michael and Trevor fight both the FIB’s strike team and Devin’s troops. In this ending Devin is tied up inside the trunk of the car and later, Michael, Franklin and Trevor kill Devin. After they kill Devin, they go their separate ways. This is the only ending in where all three protagonists survive and can be considered the desired ending to achieve. (Video starts at 0:00)
To get the third ending you must:
- Kill Cheng.
- Kill Steve Haines.
- Kill Stretch.
To get the Gold Medal for the third ending:
Complete the mission in less than 21:30 minutes - Kill at least 20 enemies with a headshot - Finish with a shooting accuracy of at least 70% (going to the shooting range is a good way to improve a character's shooting skill) - Kill Cheng with a Sticky Bomb - Kill Steve Haines with a headshot - Kill Stretch with a melee attack.
