This page documents the Official Policy of the GTA Wiki.
It concerns standards that all users should follow.

The NSFV policy (No Shrines for Vandals) states that vandals and spammers should not have monuments to their "success". This means that there should not be big warnings exclaiming about attacks, nor public outcries about how the Staff may not be coping. The main purpose of vandals is to cause disruption, so if the disruption they cause is dealt with quickly and quietly, that will discourage them from continuing.

For example, leaving loads of "OMG HELP" messages on staff talk pages, edit summaries, etc. only makes the vandal look more successful in disrupting the wiki. Leaving "PLZ STOP" messages on their talk page makes them feel powerful, because we can't do anything to stop them. Simply reverting the edits and giving them a firm message to stop doesn't encourage them, and it doesn't make them look or feel good.

To avoid rewarding these users with such permanent records of their infamy, please use the GTA Wiki Discord server #user-reports channel where staff can be seen online and alerted immediately so they can respond appropriately. In the unlikely event of no GTA Wiki administrative staff being online, for instances of excessive disruption or cross-wiki disruption, please make use of the Fandom VSTF Vandalism or Spam report pages.
