Isn't it CC-BY-SA?
Dear GTA Wiki community,
On the Copyright page, it says:
- You may use content on GTA Wiki for research purposes. This includes looking up information for yourself, and looking up information to be used on other websites.
- However, if you wish to copy content directly from GTA Wiki to another website, you should ask permission first, on the Copyright discussion page.
As I understand, practically all Wikia sites are under a CC-BY-SA license. (See Wikia:Licensing.) This is what it says in the footer of the site, and under the wiki edit box as well. However, the above passage is very much against the CC license.
Please, give me feedback and/or revise the content of the Copyright page. Mind, this also affects my decision on whether to contribute to the wiki or not.

- You are correct that there are contradictions here. Although, I would point out that "should ask permission" is separate to "must gain permission". This is because Wikia acquired this wiki which used to be standalone (not part of Wikia). When it was on its own, it used a CC license, then a GNU FDL licence, now the CC-BY-SA licence. I would advise that the content is licensed by the licence in use at the time of contributing. So any edits you make to GTW now would be CC-BY-SA. I shall ensure this situation is clarified on the copyright page, but this is something I think we were putting off sorting out. Gboyers talk 00:13, November 5, 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply, Gboyers. It would be really nice to correct this infromation on the Copyright page, indeed. As I'm not familiar with the history of the wiki, I can't do it myself, obviously. --Mondotta 01:16, November 5, 2009 (UTC)
