Green Goo is a mission in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, given to protagonist Carl Johnson by The Truth from the Verdant Meadows Aircraft Graveyard in eastern Bone County, San Andreas.

Mission

Carl is in the airstrip, sitting on a crate, looking and waiting for The Truth. Suddenly, The Truth, who is riding the jetpack, comes out of nowhere and heads straight for Carl, who ends up avoiding him. He later says he can't fly the thing, so Carl should better do the task. He should head for a train heavily-protected by guards, kill the guards, and get the "stuff". Carl asks what stuff, but Truth does not know yet. Carl, being confused and a little angry, asks Truth why he does not know yet. He just says to get the stuff they least want Carl to get.

Carl heads for the train, which is coming from Prickle Pine. He kills the guards protecting the train. He then shoots at three blue crates, with one crate revealing the package needed for The Truth. He collects the jar of green goo, and takes it back to The Truth, who is waiting at the airstrip. Carl gives it to The Truth, who calls the green goo "everything". Carl asks one more time what is it, but it was too late, as The Truth drives off in The Mothership.

Script

Carl Johnson: Damn. Where is this fool?

(The Truth comes)

The Truth: Woooah! Shit! Oh!

Carl Johnson: Hey, man, look out!

The Truth: Damn! Ow!

(Truth gets up)

The Truth: THE NEW AGE BEGINS HERE!

Carl Johnson: Say what?

The Truth: Not all fantastic things are lies, Carl! Today, we'll know EVERYTHING.

Carl Johnson: Oh, I can hardly wait. I hear knowledge is truly sacred in this part of the world.

The Truth: Man, I've tried, but I can't fly for shit! You better do it. Land on the train, kill the guards, get in and steal the stuff.

Carl Johnson: Oh, yeah. What stuff?

The Truth: I don't know yet!

Carl Johnson: Oh. You don't know yet! I was starting to think you was a lunatic. What do you mean, you don't know yet?

The Truth: You'll be stealing the answer! Look, fly the jet pack. Land on the train. And steal whatever they least want us to get. Shhh. Listen. They're coming. We better go. Peace on earth, dude.

(Carl goes back to airstrip with the green goo)

The Truth: You got it, man?

Carl Johnson: I got something.

The Truth: Let me see. Oooh... Everything is different now.

Carl Johnson: What is it?

The Truth: Everything. They will call this 'year zero'. I'll be in touch.

Carl Johnson: Wait! What is... Yeah, see you around.

Reward

The reward for this mission is $20,000. The airstrip becomes an asset, which generates a maximum of $10,000. In addition, a jetpack now spawns near the save point. (Some guide books suggest the aircraft hangar becomes accessible after this mission, but in fact it's available as soon as you purchase the airstrip).

Notes

  • It is normally possible to remove the jetpack once equipped, however this ability is disabled for this mission, meaning you can't land on the end of the train, remove the jetpack, and continue on foot.
  • In all likelihood a wanted level will be attained once you start shooting at the train, but unless you land near a cop (or somehow manage to increase the wanted level to three stars, perhaps by shooting police vehicles as you go) this shouldn't impact the mission.
