Jose is a character in the Grand Theft Auto series who appears as a minor character in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Background
Jose is a member of the Varrios Los Aztecas gang. Jose seems to be a very good friend of Cesar Vialpando, and shows him respect, as he says that Carl is lucky that Cesar has spoken of him.
Events of GTA San Andreas
Jose was seen encountering and taunting Carl Johnson after a lowrider competition. After Carl pushed Cesar for kissing his sister, Jose arrives to the place and tells Carl to "fuck off", until he was stopped by Cesar himself. Cesar says that 'this is important to him'. Jose then leaves the place, saying that he is thirsty.
Mission Appearances
- GTA San Andreas
Trivia
- In The Introduction, T-Bone Mendez was beating up a suspected snitch to death. The man looks very similar to Jose as he is bald-headed and wears a white V-neck T-shirt (albeit covered in blood). The snitch, however, dies. This is unlikely as the Introduction takes place before the main events of GTA San Andreas takes place. It is also possible that Rockstar simply recycled Jose's character model and used it for the snitch in the Introduction.
- After The Green Sabre, Cesar mentions that all of his friends are either dead or in hiding. Jose is not mentioned afterwards, and seeing as he appears to be an important member of the Aztecas, it might be possible he was killed between Los Desperados and The Green Sabre.
- In GTA IV, there is a memorial in South Bohan on Wallkill Avenue stating "Jose; In loving memory 6-10-69 -- 4-22-02". The portrait is strikingly similar to Jose's appearance in GTA San Andreas. It is unlikely that they are the same person, as both games take place in separate universes.
