Melee Weapons are featured in every Grand Theft Auto game after GTA III.

All Melee Weapons serve the same purpose (excluding the Chainsaw and the Teaser), to beat the victim to death.

3D Universe

The games in the 3D Universe (apart from GTA III and GTA Advance) feature the most melee weapons in the entire series.

HD Universe

While still present in the HD Universe, the number of melee weapons has been cut back, particularly in GTA IV which only features two melee weapons.
