* Although called monkeys in the game, they are technically not monkeys at all, as the latter term more correctly refers to primates with tails. Instead, they are chimpanzees, a kind of ape.<ref>[http://animals.howstuffworks.com/mammals/monkeys-vs-apes.htm HowStuffWorks "Is there a difference between monkeys and apes?"]</ref>

Caged monkey

This ain't a rescue mission, ape. You're on your own.

Monkeys are animals that appear in Grand Theft Auto V. Although not appearing in the wild, they appear in the mission "Monkey Business".

Overview

The Rhesus monkeys appear in the mission "Monkey Business" inside the Humane Labs and Research Facility. The monkeys are all in cages, and appear to be in a severely agitated state, possibly suffering from the effects of animal testing or due to the shootout. During the mission, at some point Haines will kick one of the cages, making a random comment before leaving. They can be shot by Michael.
