Nixon Island is an island district located in Liberty Island, Liberty City, that appears in Grand Theft Auto.

Description[]

The island can only be accessed from a bridge in East Park. There are no businesses or places of interest for the player on the island.

The island is mistakenly named "Liberty City" on the HUD in the Game Boy Color version of the game.

Inspiration[]

The island is based on Roosevelt Island, which was renamed in 1971 after President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The island in-game is presumably named after Richard Nixon, who also served as President.
