Tom Novy (born Thomas Reichold) is a real-life DJ and producer from Munich, Germany, originally intended to appear in Grand Theft Auto III.
Description[]
At one point during the development of Grand Theft Auto III, Tom Novy collaborated with Rockstar North by contributing his song "Back To The Streets" to the game's soundtrack. The song is used for the game's German TV advertisement, notorious for showcasing the game shortly before the 9/11 changes (such as destructible passenger airplanes).
Novy has a character model, "NOVY
", suggesting he was originally intended to appear during a mission. However, both Novy and his song were removed from the final game for unknown reasons.
Despite that, Novy's character model and textures are still kept in the game files on the PlayStation 2 version. Novy's description is a white male with a brown crew-cut and a goatee. He also wears a blue shirt, blue jeans, and black two-tone sneakers.
In the subsequent PC version, the file for Novy's character model is corrupt, with the animations broken and the LOD model displayed at short distance.
