Ransom is a mission in Grand Theft Auto III. It is automatically triggered following the completion of the S.A.M. mission for Asuka Kasen and is started by protagonist Claude on a construction site in Fort Staunton, Staunton Island, Liberty City.
Mission
Claude enters the construction sites elevator and, after reaching the top floor, finds Miguel and Asuka Kasen dead. Claude takes a ransom letter from Catalina from a pole, which Miguel is impaled on, and reads it, walking back to the elevator quickly.
Script
Catalina (letter): I've got your precious Maria. If you don't want her face to look like she fell out with the butcher. bring $500,000 to the Villa at Cedar Grove.
Reward
The reward for "completing" this mission is $45,000 and the unlocking of the game's final storyline mission, The Exchange.
