Ransom is a mission in Grand Theft Auto III. It is automatically triggered following the completion of the S.A.M. mission for Asuka Kasen and is started by protagonist Claude on a construction site in Fort Staunton, Staunton Island, Liberty City.
Mission
Claude enters the construction sites elevator and, after reaching the top floor, finds Miguel and Asuka Kasen dead and Maria Latore taken hostage. Claude takes a ransom letter from Catalina from a pole, which Miguel is impaled on, and reads it, walking back to the elevator quickly.
Reward
The reward for "completing" this mission is $45,000 and the unlocking of the game's final storyline mission, The Exchange.
