Real life people have featured as themselves in all of the three separate universes of the Grand Theft Auto series. Most can be only be heard in voice overs or are mentioned but a few can be seen as actual characters. Phil Collins was the first real life person to physically appear in the series, and the only to appear as part of the 3D Universe of the Grand Theft Auto series.
Grand Theft Auto Online has also introduced many real life personalities and celebrities into the HD Universe canon of the Grand Theft Auto series.

Phil Collins appeared in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, performing a concert at the Hyman Memorial Stadium in Vice City. His songs 'In The Air Tonight', 'Easy Lover' (with Phil Bailey) and 'Turn It On Again' (as a member of Genesis) appear on two of the game's radio stations, Emotion 98.3 and Flash FM respectively. His missions involve protagonist Victor Vance protecting Phil from assassination attempts by the Forelli Crime Family as his manager, Barry Mickelthwaite, is in debt to the Forellis.

Lazlow Jones also exists in the HD Universe canon of the Grand Theft Auto series. He hosts Integrity 2.0 in GTA IV, and Chattersphere in GTA V. He is also the host of the TV program Fame or Shame. He appears as a minor character in the storyline of Grand Theft Auto V, and later appeared as a main character and mission giver in the storyline of Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the After Hours update.
Bas Rutten[]
Bas Rutten is the co-host of "The Men's Room" TV show in Grand Theft Auto IV along with Jeremy St. Ives. He is shown to be more aggressive while his co-host Jeremy is the nicer of the two. Although Bas has allegedly committed many crimes that would place him in prison for several life sentences, he remains on television giving advice to "other angry men"

Katt Williams is an American comedian who appears at the Split Sides comedy club in Algonquin in Grand Theft Auto IV. During his performances, he will either speak about weed, studio apartments, Hustlin', test driving, pets or short people.

Ricky Gervais is an English comedian who appears at the Split Sides comedy club in Algonquin in Grand Theft Auto IV as well as being interviewed on the radio station WKTT Radio. During his many performances, Ricky will speak about war, obesity, cancer and AIDS.
Frankie Boyle[]
Frankie Boyle is a Scottish stand-up comedian and writer who appears in The Lost and Damned as one of the comedians at the Split Sides comedy club. During his performances, Frankie will either speak about sex, children, black comedy, scientists, or animals.
Jesco White[]
Jesco White, also known as "The Dancing Outlaw/Hillbilly", is an entertainer and mountain tapdancer who appears in physically Grand Theft Auto V and by radio in Grand Theft Auto Online. He can be heard at any time on Rebel Radio, in both games. In GTA V, an easter egg featuring him tap-dancing can be found at the Foreclosed North Alamo Pier off North Calafia Way where he spawns in front of a house with a portable radio playing "If You Wanna Get To Heaven" by Ozark Mountain Daredevils.
Solomun[]
Solomun appears in Grand Theft Auto Online as the first DJ for the GTA Online Protagonist's Nightclub and is initially resident from July 24th, 2018 to July 31st, 2018 and thereafter whenever the player decides to re-book him. As part of the initial setup for their club, Tony Prince sends the player and English Dave to LSIA to pick up Solomun who is due to arrive on a private jet. The pilot passes out just as the plane is approaching and Solomun takes the controls and crash-lands at Sandy Shores Airfield while the player chases the jet in Tony's Schafter V12.

Tale Of Us appears in Grand Theft Auto Online are the second DJs for the GTA Online Protagonist's Nightclub and is initially resident from July 31st, 2018 to August 6th, 2018 and thereafter whenever the player decides to re-book them.

The Black Madonna appears in Grand Theft Auto Online are the fourth and last DJ for the GTA Online Protagonist's Nightclub and is initially resident from August 14th, 2018 to August 20th, 2018 and thereafter whenever the player decides to re-book her.
Kenny Dixon Jr.[]
Kenny Dixon Jr., who performs as Moodymann, is a producer and DJ based in Detroit, Michigan. He first appeared in Grand Theft Auto Online as a DJ at The Music Locker nightclub under The Diamond Casino & Resort as part of The Cayo Perico Heist update. He subsequently appeared in the Los Santos Tuners update, under the alias "KDJ". Together with his girlfriend Sessanta, he becomes a member of the underground LS Car Meet, and provides the player with several Robbery Contracts.

DJ Pooh[]
DJ Pooh is an American record producer, voice actor, rapper, actor, screenwriter and film director who appears in Grand Theft Auto Online. He first made a cameo appearance in The Cayo Perico Heist update, and later expanded his role in The Contract update, as Pooh contacts Franklin Clinton, owner of the F. Clinton and Partner "celebrity solutions agency", and asks the GTA Online Protagonist to retrieve Dr. Dre's phone, which was stolen one year prior during The Cayo Perico Heist arc.
DJ Pooh was first featured in the series as the host of West Coast Classics in Grand Theft Auto V, and also returning as the host for the same radio station in Grand Theft Auto Online with a brand new playlist. In real-life, he is known as the co-producer and writer of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and the person who brought the rapper Young Maylay to voice Carl Johnson in the latter game.

Dr. Dre is an American rapper, record producer, audio engineer, record executive, and entrepreneur who appears in Grand Theft Auto Online as a main character in The Contract update. He first made a cameo appearance in The Cayo Perico Heist update, and later expanded his role in The Contract update, with the GTA Online Protagonist being hired to retrieve Dr. Dre's stolen phone and unreleased music demos.

Jimmy Iovine is American entrepreneur, record executive, former record producer, and media proprietor best known as the co-founder of Interscope Records who appears in Grand Theft Auto Online as a supporting character in The Contract update. He previously made a cameo appearance in The Cayo Perico Heist update.
Scott Storch[]
Scott Storch is an American record producer and songwriter who appears in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of The Cayo Perico Heist update. Scott appears in person during the Heist Prep: Gather Intel mission when the GTA Online Protagonist and English Dave arrive at Juan Strickler's beach party in Cayo Perico. DJ Pooh had organized Scott to take their place after he, Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre had been unable to make the trip.

Anderson .Paak is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and drummer who appears in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of The Contract update. He appears in person during Studio Time, when the player enters the studio during Studio Time to eliminate Johnny Guns' Hired Gunmen. After the player has completed all of the Dr. Dre's VIP Contract missions, when Dr. Dre announces a recording session is in progress, he will reappear to re-record his vocal for ETA.

Lola Romero is an American recording and mix engineer and Grammy award winning Chief Engineer who appears in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of The Contract update. She first appears during Studio Time, alongside Dr. Dre and Anderson .Paak. After the player has completed The Contract: Dr. Dre, they can enter the studio and see her at work.
