Rockstar Vancouver, formerly known as Barking Dog Studios, is a video game studio located in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It was founded in 1998 by several former employees of Radical Entertainment. It was renamed when Rockstar Games acquired Barking Dog Studios in 2002, after Barking Dog had made games such as Homeworld: Cataclysm among other major releases.
Rockstar Vancouver released Bully, a controversial title exclusively for the PlayStation 2 on 17 October 2006. Rockstar Vancouver employs 75 people and develops action titles exclusively for Rockstar Games. Bully was eventually ported to the Xbox 360 and Wii in 2008, in the form of 'Bully: Scholarship Edition' by Mad Doc Software, now known as Rockstar New England. Rockstar Vancouver is expected to release Max Payne 3 in May 2012.
