This incident, as well as the name of the victim, are references to a real-life occurence in Hawthorne, California on June 30, 2013, in which Leon Rosby was arrested for videotaping police making an arrest while he was walking his dog. The police promptly arrested him and shot his dog when it tried attacking the police officers.
