*The Russian shop was originally intended to be a [[Binco]] outlet but was changed for an unknown reason.

*The Russian shop is the only store of the three in Liberty City where the hats or sunglasses may be purchased.

*On the wall in the store there is a Spyde jacket that can't be bought or worn. It is similar to the navy Spyde jacket but has racing stripes across it and a red collar.

*For some reason, the cashier is under the impression that Niko has a wife. Occasionally, she will comment after Niko buys something that, "''Your wife would like that; makes you look very strong",'' or, when the player leaves the shop, sometimes she will say, "''Tell your wife I said hi!"''

*Unlike the other clothes store where you can open the register and the money inside, this one in the store cannot be opened.

*In The Lost And Damned beta, the Russian Shop would have been accessible and you would have been able to buy clothes. This is proven by leftover hats and glasses in the game that can be put on player, and this could also explain why there is an icon appearing on a map when you enter it. It is possible that purchasing clothing in TLAD was scrapped because suits, t-shirts or tracksuits wouldn't fit the biker-style theme of the game.

*In beta there would be another pair of glasses. They would have white build and orange shades.

The Russian Shop is a clothing store featured in Grand Theft Auto IV.

OverviewEdit

It is located on Mohawk Avenue in Hove Beach, Broker, just down the road from the first safehouse. While referred by game as the "Russian Shop", the store's sign, written in Cyrillic, reads "НОВИНКИ ПОСЛЕДНЕЙ МОДЫ" (NOVINKI POSLEDNYEĬ MODY, Latest Fashion Novelties).

It is one of only three clothing chains where the player can purchase clothes, the other two being Modo and Perseus.

Description Edit

The Russian shop is the first clothing store opened and is accessible from the start of the game. However, the clothing blip on the radar only appears after visiting the store. The store features cheap street clothes and is the only store in Liberty City that sells sunglasses and hats. It is the cheapest of the three clothing stores, with prices ranging from $8 to $36. Most of the clothing sold there has in-fact been imported from Eastern Europe as portions of Niko's original outfit can be re-purchased here. According to the cashier, some of the clothing has been imported from Bulgaria.

The Russian Shop is relatively small. There is one cashier, who appears to be under the impression that Niko is married. Niko cannot steal money from the cash register, as pressing the action button will cause Niko to pick up a soda can/projectile from the desk beside the cash register.

Killing the cashier will rarely induce a wanted level, however the thugs and gang members "hanging out" outside the store will quickly draw a firearm and open fire at Niko as he exits the store.

TriviaEdit

  • The Russian shop was originally intended to be a Binco outlet, but this was changed for the storyline in order to fit in with Niko and Roman being Eastern European immigrants and living in an Eastern European neighborhood.
  • Michelle and Kiki Jenkins prefer Niko to wear clothing from The Russian Shop.
  • In The Lost and Damned beta, the Russian Shop would have been accessible and Johnny would have been able to buy clothes from the store. This is proven by leftover hats and glasses in the game that can be put on the player, and this could also explain why there is an icon appearing on a map when the player enters it. It is possible that purchasing clothing in TLAD was scrapped because the clothes available to purchase wouldn't fit with the biker theme of the game.
  • In the beta, there would be another pair of glasses. They would have a white frame and orange shades.
