The [[Huang Lee|player]] can visit stores that sells scratch cards. Stores can be identified by the "Liberty City Lotto" sign and blue chevrons outside. Visited stores will be stored in the [[PDA]]. GTA Chinatown Wars takes advantage of the [[Nintendo DS]] touchscreen and the microphone. The player can buy a scratchcard by dragging a scratch card of his/her choice to the cash register. The player can either scratch off the foil by using the touchscreen or blowing into the microphone. In the PSP version, moving the analog stick will scratch the foil. You can claim a prize by revealing a set of winning symbols. There are 5 different kinds of scratch cards with varying rewards.

A scratch card (also called a scratch off, scratch ticket, scratcher, scratchie, scratch-it, scratch game, scratch-and-win or instant game) is a small token where one or more areas contain concealed information: they are covered by a substance that cannot be seen through, but can be scratched off. Scratchcards are in the form of gambling in Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.
