Shark logo
Shark is a credit card company under the BAWSAQ stock exchange in Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto V. The company name comes from the term "loan shark", where an individual or group loans money to an individual at high interest rates and backed by either blackmail or threats of violence should the borrower fail to pay back the loan in a "timely" fashion. The company may be associated with Shark Loans, a company seen advertised in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Radio ads in Grand Theft Auto V mention that Shark now offers different cash cards, each named after a type of shark, catering to different types of spenders.
Trivia
- In GTA San Andreas, while watching the race from the Inside Track computer, Shark Loans is advertised on the lower left corner saying "Shark Loans: Just Don't Lose!".
