+ | |
+ | The Speedophile Seashark is a personal watercraft in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online. |
+ | ==Design== |
− | The Speedophile 2000 is a single-seat watercraft vehicle in Grand Theft Auto V. |
+ | ===Grand Theft Auto V and Online=== |
+ | The Seashark is closely based on the https://www.sea-doo.com/watercraft/performance/rxt-260.html, as well as taking minor inspiration from the http://waverunner.mobi, in terms of the sides and rear seat "lips". |
+ | The Seashark is depicted as a small jet ski with a rounded design, featuring a small hull that is reinforced with black/plastic trim on the outer portions and "SPEEDOPHILE 2000" decals on both sides. |
− | The Speedophile 2000 is manufactured by SpeedoPhile. It is currently unknown if the Speedophile 2000 is the only Jetski in the game. |
+ | The bow/front area is elevated and features narrow mesh intakes intended for the air to flow through the engine bay, followed by a small fairing with additional decals, housing a small windscreen with two rear-view mirror shells (separated by a gray/plastic section where a storage compartment would be). The handlebar is mostly finished in black/plastic and houses the corresponding controls with numerous analog dials and small switches. In the enhanced version, it uses the analog "Truck" dials from most boats. |
− | ==Design== |
+ | |||
+ | The stern/rear area features a metallic platform with a diamond pattern, and a top deck housing a triangle-shaped exit vent on the rear and long seats with capacity for the two occupants. Additional "SP" decals can be seen on either side of the top deck, while the rear end of the hull houses a single nozzle for propulsion. |
+ | |||
+ | The Seashark spawns in a primary color applied to most of the body. Strangely enough, the Seashark shares the same horn with the beater Tornado and Emperor. |

+ | ==Performance== |
+ | ===Grand Theft Auto V and Online=== |
+ | The Seashark has excellent acceleration and good top speed. While it can easily be beaten by the Speeder and the Jetmax, it makes up for its handling, with a very small turning radius and excellent maneuverability. It is a recommended choice for narrow passages or areas where most larger boats can get stuck, as well as shallow waters thanks to the simplistic propulsion system. Care should be taken from most obstacles, as the occupants can get ejected in hard collisions. |
+ | |||
+ | The Seashark is powered by a small inboard engine powering a small impeller that sends the water through the small nozzle on the stern, creating a water jet that propels the vessel forward. Its engine noise sounds similar to the Stinger and the Stinger GT. |

+ | ==Special Variants== |
+ | ===Grand Theft Auto V and Online=== |
+ | ====Lifeguard==== |
+ | A variant of the Seashark used by the Los Santos Lifeguard can be seen in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online. This variant features a white, red and black livery with the corresponding markings around. The portion below the fairing and the top section of the handlebar also bear a red paint in place of the traditional grey/plastic finish. |

+ | </gallery> |
+ | |||
+ | ====Yacht==== |
+ | |||
+ | A special version of the Seashark appears when purchasing a Galaxy Super Yacht in Grand Theft Auto Online, added as part of the Executives and Other Criminals update. It spawns in the colors of the yacht, altering the color of the yacht will consequently alter the color of the boat and any other vehicles that spawn on the yacht. |
+ | |||
+ | While similar to the normal Seashark, the trim around the hull assumes a regular finish that can be painted, the rear platform has a conventional panelling/flooring and the seats are finished in white, while the front intake was removed. It also gains a black livery with unique decals around, being the "SUPERCHARGED" marking on either side of the bow/front area and "SPx" decals on the top deck of the stern/rear area. |
+ | |||
+ | The jetski is assigned a primary color for most of the upper body that is not covered by the livery and various details around the seat, as well as a secondary color for the seat and the details around the decals. Most of the hull/lower portion, the upper outlines of the livery and the detail on the side intakes are painted with the pearlescent color, while the outer trim of the hull and part of the top deck below the seats are painted with the wheel color. When spawned through other means, it has an all-white color with the default alloy wheel color (which is reused from the Lifeguard variant). |

+ | ===Grand Theft Auto V=== |
− | * The name Speedophile is a combination of "speed" and the Greek word "phile", or the word could refer to one who loves speed. |
+ | *The Seashark can be seen with a black hull/two-tone paint-job in the first GTA V trailer and in pre-release screenshots. It also featured yellow glow/outline around the "Speedophile" decals on the boat's front fairing. The Seashark features unused secondary color values in the vehicle's color variation data.<ref name="seashark_carvariation">Seahshark's color variation data: <code>update\update.rpf\x64\data\carvariations.ymt</code>:<br><pre> |
− | * The name speedophile may also refer to "speedo" an article of mens clothing for swimming which could reinforce that the word may refer to a "paedophile" |

− | * The name may also be a play on the British pronnunciation of "paedophile" [pee-doe-file]. |

The Speedophile Seashark is a personal watercraft in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online.
Design
Grand Theft Auto V and Online
The Seashark is closely based on the Sea Doo RXT, as well as taking minor inspiration from the Yamaha Waverunner, in terms of the sides and rear seat "lips".
The Seashark is depicted as a small jet ski with a rounded design, featuring a small hull that is reinforced with black/plastic trim on the outer portions and "SPEEDOPHILE 2000" decals on both sides.
The bow/front area is elevated and features narrow mesh intakes intended for the air to flow through the engine bay, followed by a small fairing with additional decals, housing a small windscreen with two rear-view mirror shells (separated by a gray/plastic section where a storage compartment would be). The handlebar is mostly finished in black/plastic and houses the corresponding controls with numerous analog dials and small switches. In the enhanced version, it uses the analog "Truck" dials from most boats.
The stern/rear area features a metallic platform with a diamond pattern, and a top deck housing a triangle-shaped exit vent on the rear and long seats with capacity for the two occupants. Additional "SP" decals can be seen on either side of the top deck, while the rear end of the hull houses a single nozzle for propulsion.
The Seashark spawns in a primary color applied to most of the body. Strangely enough, the Seashark shares the same horn with the beater Tornado and Emperor.

Performance
Grand Theft Auto V and Online
The Seashark has excellent acceleration and good top speed.
The Seashark is powered by a small inboard engine powering a small impeller that sends the water through the small nozzle on the stern, creating a water jet that propels the vessel forward. Its engine noise sounds similar to the Stinger and the Stinger GT.

Special Variants
Grand Theft Auto V and Online
Lifeguard
A variant of the Seashark used by the Los Santos Lifeguard can be seen in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online. This variant features a white, red and black livery with the corresponding markings around. The portion below the fairing and the top section of the handlebar also bear a red paint in place of the traditional grey/plastic finish.
Yacht
A special version of the Seashark appears when purchasing a Galaxy Super Yacht in Grand Theft Auto Online, added as part of the Executives and Other Criminals update. It spawns in the colors of the yacht, altering the color of the yacht will consequently alter the color of the boat and any other vehicles that spawn on the yacht.
While similar to the normal Seashark, the trim around the hull assumes a regular finish that can be painted, the rear platform has a conventional panelling/flooring and the seats are finished in white, while the front intake was removed. It also gains a black livery with unique decals around, being the "SUPERCHARGED" marking on either side of the bow/front area and "SPx" decals on the top deck of the stern/rear area.
The jetski is assigned a primary color for most of the upper body that is not covered by the livery and various details around the seat, as well as a secondary color for the seat and the details around the decals.

Trivia
Grand Theft Auto V
- The Seashark can be seen with a black hull/two-tone paint-job in the first GTA V trailer and in pre-release screenshots. It also featured yellow glow/outline around the "Speedophile" decals on the boat's front fairing. The Seashark features unused secondary color values in the vehicle's color variation data.[2]
- The Seashark is often referred to by name instead of a generic term, such as in Hood Safari, Lamar mentions "Seashark races" and MC Clip bleets how the protagonists "stole [my] seasharks." This is possibly because "Seashark" is the GTA universe's parallel of "jet ski;" a trademark that legally belongs to Kawasaki that has become a genericized trademark.
