I believe we should move this to "Apple iPhone OS" for two reasons. First, to avoid two systems in one page, and besides, it's the default operating system for the iPhone and the iPod Touch anyway. Next, it's just plain awkward if it's "IPhone" instead of iPhone or iPod. Thoughts? Masterpogihaha 04:47, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

The operating system is not really the relevant part - we don't say that GTA IV is out for the "Xbox 360 OS". It's an integrated hardware/software system, and the device is the important part. Moved to Apple iPhone - this covers everything that people would actually look for or try to link to. Gboyers talk 10:40, May 3, 2010 (UTC)

The reason we don't say "Xbox 360 OS" is because there is only one system that runs it. Microsoft Windows is run on millions of different computers, so in that case we would say GTA IV is for Microsoft Windows, not name every single computer in the world that runs it. Apple iOS is run by three different Apple devices so it makes sense for the page's name to include those. We should move this page to "Apple iOS".

I sort of agree. I agree that the current title is inconvenient, but I wouldn't mind just iPhone (with iPod Touch redirecting). However, I do understand your concern about not including iPod in the title. Apple iPhone OS, or just iPhone OS could work, my only concern is that when people are buying an iPhone app, they don't think of it as an "iPhone OS app", it's just an iPhone app (or iPod Touch app). It's kind of like how we use PC instead of Windows or Microsoft Windows. Having it as iPhone with iPod Touch redirecting would be similar to what we do with Achievements in GTA IV and Trophies in GTA IV. Also, when you search for something in iTunes, the category for apps in iPhone Apps, so my idea would be consistent with that. What does everyone else think?
