What I am not quite sure about, is what race Clay belongs to. Is he Caucasian or African-American? His dark skin in game makes me think that he's African-American, but his artwork makes me think otherwise. -- Master Sima Yi 05:35, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

Of course he's African-American. Look at his lips, nose and hair. And his voice (and voice-actor) are absolutely black. By the way, CJ was more pale. =) And artworks always confuse people. Look at Stubbs' artwork. Orto Dogge 08:35, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I wasn't sure. Though he could just go under a sunbed every day... XD -- Master Sima Yi 08:56, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

Sure, all brutal bikers do that.)) But what about his age? Somebody wrote in Trivia this: However, at one point Clay makes reference to his time guarding the U.S. Embassy in Saigon shortly before the city fell to North Vietnamese forces in 1975. But Clay didn't say, that he was there BEFORE 1975. I like theory about 51 years old, but we need more proves of that. --Orto Dogge 09:07, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

During friend activity, Johnny asks what was Clay's favourite part of being in the army - he answers that it was his period in Vietnam. However, Johnny says that he can't be that old to have served there during war and Clay says that he was just guarding the embassy, so he definitely did not take part in the war in Vietnam, so it was actually AFTER 1975. Therefore, I think the theory about him being at least 51 is untrue. Ledsbourne (talk) 15:27, February 12, 2014 (UTC)

DonVecta (talk) 09:06, February 27, 2014 (UTC) Guys, there's some debate going on about his status (same as Terry's). From what I consider is correct, Clay and Terry should be labeled as " Determinant"  since that's up to the player's choice to kill them or not. I believe the only way to confirm their death is if it was mentioned in-game such as news reels or specific dialogue (such as the optional deaths of Ashley or Isiah, whereas their death was confirmed by news notes even if you let them live). While I'm inclined that probably their death would become canon later on (if ever mentioned), considering that the Gold Medal requirements was to kill them, so far there's not such confirmation, so I vote it should be determinant. Thoughts?

Age

Just for you to know, he never mentioned, that he was in Vietnam by 1975. He didn't mention any specific date at all, even year. So he might be forty as far as we know. Orto Dogge (talk) 11:18, May 7, 2014 (UTC)
