:Hi - and welcome to Grand Theft Wiki. First thing to point out is that they're called missions, not quests. The RPG terminology is legitimate, but we don't use it in the GTA context. Secondly, yes missions definitely qualify for their own page - we just haven't been able to write up many mission pages yet, but we have a few as you can see in :Category:Missions. What is currently on the Missions in GTA San Andreas page (and the same for each game) is a basic outline of each mission - these should all go on separate pages, with infoboxes, images, walkthroughs and transcriptions if possible.

:Thirdly, the naming conventions are just the full title, unless there's a clash in which case use one word in brackets to differentiate - so In The Beginning... should be the full title for that mission - you don't need to include the game's name or anything like that in the title, just put it in the first sentence (and in the infoboxes). However "In the beginning" is actually the title of the opening sequence of both San Andreas and Vice City, so we need to disambiguate: use In The Beginning (GTA VC) and In The Beginning (GTA SA). I'll fix that now (using some of your content), and show you what sort of thing we're looking for (at least for now, we always aim to improve). Note: use :Category:Missions in GTA San Andreas and :Template:Infobox mission. Should we add the Caligula's, Wang Autos' and Zero's missions?

Revision as of 01:44, 11 March 2008

More Detail?

I'm new to this wiki, but I'm a long-time editor of UESPWiki. Is there a site policy regarding what deserves its own page? I came here thinking that there would be a page for every quest and was a little disappointed at the little amount of information given. What is the policy as far as how I would go about changing this? --GuildKnight 23:23, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Update: OK, since this is a wiki, y'all can just delete it, but I wanted to give an example of what I would ideally like to do. Check out my latest edit. --GuildKnight 00:14, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi - and welcome to Grand Theft Wiki. First thing to point out is that they're called missions, not quests. The RPG terminology is legitimate, but we don't use it in the GTA context. Secondly, yes missions definitely qualify for their own page - we just haven't been able to write up many mission pages yet, but we have a few as you can see in Category:Missions. What is currently on the Missions in GTA San Andreas page (and the same for each game) is a basic outline of each mission - these should all go on separate pages, with infoboxes, images, walkthroughs and transcriptions if possible.
Thirdly, the naming conventions are just the full title, unless there's a clash in which case use one word in brackets to differentiate - so In The Beginning... should be the full title for that mission - you don't need to include the game's name or anything like that in the title, just put it in the first sentence (and in the infoboxes). Note: use Category:Missions in GTA San Andreas and Template:Infobox mission. Thanks again - Gboyers (?) 02:01, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
