Hi, everyone!
My username is LegenDove, but my real name is Jordan. Grand Theft Auto has been my favorite video game franchise ever since I was 8. I played Liberty City Stories on my old PSP (which I still have), but i wasn't very good at the game. I used cheat after cheat after cheat, and still had to attempt missions at least 3 times over. Somehow, I managed to complete the whole campaign (even though I didn't realize it). That game introduced me to the hilarious, gripping, awesome world of Grand Theft Auto. I loved the radio station LCFR, and more speciifically, the segment called Chatterbox- hosted by Lazlow. I memorized every single word of that show, and to this day I can still remember most of the jokes.
Anyway, all that happened back when I was in Year 3- 7 years ago. Since then, I have been fortunate enough to purchase other GTA games, such as GTA IV, EFLC, Vice City, San Andreas and V (however, that's on pre-order). For someone like me, that's quite a collection. I've 100% completed San Andreas (on mobile, whilst my PC was broken), and I'm currently 100% completing TBoGT, which will be done by the time V comes out.
Speaking of GTA V, it is not only my favorite GTA, but my favorite game of all time. I haven't played it, but I've seen YouTubers play it, and I can honestly tell you I'm in love with it. The way hte cars handle, the animations, the map, the sound, the lighting, the atmosphere, the features, the EVERYTHING is just so satisfying. It's basically everything good Rockstar has ever done put into one game and MORE. I could go on for hours, but I'd be the only one to read it :P
Thoughts[]
Here I will be posting what I think of each GTA game (except for the 2D era- haven't played any).
III[]
I haven't played much of this one, since I don't own it, but it seems pretty good. I don't expect it to be as good as VC, SA or LCS, though.
Vice City[]
This one's complicated. I bet it's a great game, I really do, but for some reason I just can't get hooked on it. I don't know why. I got hooked on SA, LCS and EFLC, but not this one, unfortunately. I think a part of the problem lies with how outdated it is. Now, I'm not one to say that the graphics are bad and that's why I don't play it, but I think the animations and overall production quality is quite low.
Liberty City Stories[]
The first GTA I ever played of the reasons I like it so much. It holds so many memories for me, it's a game that's hard to forget. I like the map, for some reason. Looking at all the others, it seems quite boring, but nostalgia wins over logic.
San Andreas[]
Ahhhh San Andreas. What an amazing game. I only got it one and a half years ago, since my local retailer didn't have stock for ages, and I didn't have the money. I first bought it only about 4 months after I bought IV (which was the first GTA game I owned since year 3), so I was expecting a game much worse due to it's age, but if there's one thing SA taught me, it's that age does not matter in a video game. The game excels over IV in almost every way, and yes, that does include graphics. GTA IV is much more HD, more rounded out, and more real. But SA much more... GTA. It's hard to explain. It's just... I hate it when developers try to aim for realistic graphics, instead of trying to create their own perspective within a video game. SA isn't meant to look realistic, GTA IV was. Granted, GTA IV was more of a tech demo than a game, but still...
To be continued...
