My GTA Gang

The folowing is a description of my GTA gang, based in the GTA IV Liberty City. Dat Le, the leader, is supposed to be me.

The 8 Blaydz Gang

The 8 Blaydz Gang is a Vietnamese street gang operating in Liberty City. The group was founded in 2006 by American born Dat ‘Dangerous’ Le, and originally comprised of ten members, nine male and one female. The reasoning behind the gang’s name is the Vietnamese/Chinese lucky number 8, and Blaydz to symbolize aggression and lethalness.

The gang started out by primarily buying and selling weed in Cerveza Heights and parts of Bohan. They were supplied by the Hillside Posse, and members of the two groups often did favors for one another. By 2007 the gang had expanded its turf, and had set up several safe houses across the Bohan area. Dat Le, the gang’s leader, set up deals around eastern Liberty City, making a substantial amount of money in the process.

In 2008 the gang’s original hideout in Cerveza Heights was burned to the ground by members of the Russian Mafia, as well as one of the gang’s warehouses. This was in retaliation for the assassination of a top ranking Russian gangster by Dat Le as a favor to the Jamaicans for granting him heavy discounts on narcotics. The gang was forced to leave the area and set up permanent shop in Bohan.

Over the next several months they began expanding their business interests. Following a shootout with some local drug dealers, the gang seized a large amount of coke from their dead enemies, and eventually managed to sell it to a rich resident of Algonquin known as Playboy X. They also set up a protection racket over a local club in Bohan after killing the former managers, who happened to be members of the Spanish Lords. Tensions between the two gangs after these events intensified. As Dat Le and his gang raked in money from their new business ventures, the Spanish Lords sought revenge for their humiliation. This led to an ambush by the Latinos of an 8 Blaydz drug deal, at which Dat Le was present. Fortunately the Vietnamese managed to kill their attackers and escape with their money. In retaliation, Le and three other members raided an exchange between the Spanish Lords and the Angels of Death. After an intense gunfight through an abandoned warehouse, Le and his companions attempted to make off with a load of stolen drugs. Unfortunately, the police had arrived to investigate the gunfire, and one of the gang members was severely wounded. Le and the other Blayd were forced to leave him behind and head for the getaway car. What followed was a high speed car chase across Algonquin and around towards Colony Island. Despite their efforts, Le and his friend were not able to lose the heat, and both were knocked unconscious after being rammed multiple times by police cars. They were arrested and taken to a prison hospital, under charges of the attempted murder of numerous law enforcement officials, running down five pedestrians, and having a load of stolen coke from the Spanish Lords.

Dat Le and his fellow gang member became separated in the hospital. He spent several months recovering and then awaiting trial in a state penitentiary. His subordinates anxiously awaited an opportunity to attempt a rescue mission, but not until several months did they finally get their chance.

One night in mid 2008, Dat Le was loaded into a prison van for transport to a prison facility closer to the courthouse. As the police convoy made its way through the city, 8 Blaydz members formed a roadblock with a stolen cargo truck and a beat up Sabre. As the police neared the sight, the gang opened up with SMGs and AKs leant to them by the Hillside Posse. They managed to overtake the guards and hijack the van carrying Le. They lost the heat and headed up to a set of ruined buildings in Bohan, where they transferred Le to a car and took him back to their safe house. The event sparked a city wide search for the escaped prisoner, forcing Le to lay low for almost half a year. Meanwhile, his second in command continued to run gang business, recruiting more members and carrying out deals, as well as picking up protection money from the club. When Le finally emerged from hiding in 2009, the gang was back in business and had mostly lost the attention of the Spanish Lords, who had considered the gang to be finished due to the arrest of its leader and a subsequent lack of confrontations between the two groups.
