Welcome[]

Hi, welcome to GTA Wiki. Thanks for contributing to the Perennial page, and for taking interest in the wiki. Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything, or as alternatives, leave a post on a forum, or refer to the Help pages. -- Messi1983 (Talk) 19:16, June 10, 2012

RE:[]

I've got it from the German Wiki. I supposed they had right logos but some are photoshoped... Just leave it that way, they have better quality than the images before.Dodo8 Talk

Saying hello[]

Hi there, I hope all things are well. I implemented a new policy but to ensure the best for our readers I need to work a bit closer with other editors of vehicle articles. Seeing as you are recognised on my list, might I ask if you are from the United States? JBanton (Talk | Contribs) 16:56, May 26, 2013 (UTC)

References[]

Could you provide references to the Viva Video attack on Wikipedia? The reason for this is we can provide evidence that User:Bea Binene really is a vandal.

Mr. T., That's Me! (talk) 07:32, June 3, 2013 (UTC)

That sounds really compelling! Not to sound racist or anything but most vandals here and on Wikipedia are Filipinos. I'm not saying there not the ones doing this, it is the first thing the user is. Unlike the Filipino vandals on Wikipedia, this User:Bea Binene is acting alone and really isn't seriously vandalising. She/He/Its only creating her Viva Video crap and vulgar pictures. Us Patrollers and Admins are watching the user's every move.

Color[]

Don't highlight your signature in green, this is only for the b'cats. Thanks. --Thomas0802 (talk-Edits) 09:57, July 22, 2013 (UTC)

Broken Image[]

Could you tell me in which page the image is? Thanks --Thomas0802 • (talkedits) 22:56, July 29, 2013 (UTC)

Notice - File naming and/or licensing

Site-logo
Please ensure to properly name and/or license images that you upload to the GTA Wiki

Image licensing and naming is part of our official Media Policy, and as such, it is asked of all users to respect the policy and add a proper name and license when uploading as described here.

Licenses
Whenever you upload an image to the wiki, towards the bottom of the page there is an option to add a license.

  • For images that are game screenshots, use the appropriate Screenshots & in-game logos.
  • For images extracted directly from game files or from Rockstar Games websites, use This file is copyright to Rockstar Games. ({{Rockstar}})
  • For non-game screenshots (pictures taken from the web etc.), select This image is used under Fair Use.
  • For images that are not licensed, e.g. images you have created from scratch yourself, select This is in the Public Domain.

File names
As a general rule of thumb, image names should follow the following pattern:

PageSubjectName-GTAgame-OptionalDescription.png

The name can be modified in the bar right above the "add license" option when you are uploading it, and must match with the Media Policy (a table of correct names can be seen here).

What you should do now
Because your recent upload was non-compliant, you are now expected to take steps to fix the issues with your file(s). There is a detailed tutorial on how to do this here.

If you have any questions about the policy, please use the dedicated section, or if you need assistance fixing your files, please contact me on my talk page or that of any other staff member.

This message is informational, and is not to be considered an official warning, however, ignoring this message can lead to the file(s) you uploaded being deleted and possibly to an official warning or a block if you continue to ignore the policy on subsequent uploads. For more information on licensing and copyright, see here.
Thank you!

Firstly, you did not add any license to any of the images you uploaded, and I had added the license to one of the image for you. Secondly, only the Warning and Block templates must only be used by staffs, the rest can be used by non-staffs, only in the right way, which I had done, since you did not add any license. MC (MyComputer) 22:51, June 10, 2015 (UTC)

Confirming the above - Informational/help templates like the above media policy reminder are not restricted to staff-only usage. Any editor can notice a policy breach and remind another editor using this template. If someone is mis-using a template in circumstances that did not warrant it, then staff would step in. In this case, Marcus beat me to it by about 5 minutes as I was going to give you the same reminder when I saw the image upload.   smurfy (coms) 23:09, June 10, 2015 (UTC)
