Vapid is an American automotive company in the HD Universe.
It is primarily based on Ford Motor Company, although some of its models resemble some of those made by Chevrolet, Dodge, Land Rover, and even the International Harvester/Navistar International. In parody of Ford's famous blue oval badge, Vapid's logo is a red oval. The word 'vapid' means 'dull' but also sounds similar to 'rapid,' a possible motivation for the use of the name. Vapid is one of the biggest car manufacturers in Grand Theft Auto IV, along with Declasse.
Vapid will also be a car manufacturer in Grand Theft Auto V, according to the first trailer of the game: near the ending of the trailer, a police car is seen chasing a Un-named Convertible, and for a brief moment it's possible to see the name Vapid printed on the back of the police car and the Infernus screenshot shows a Vapid sign in the right superior corner of the screenshot. There is also a Ford Mustang inspired muscle car as well as the Vapid Double Cab Truck, both meant to appear in the game. Also, on Trevor's Trailer, whilst he is stealing the plane, a Vapid aircraft hangar can be seen on the right, meaning Vapid may also produce aircrafts, or it can just be a vehicle factory with Trevor just happening to be taking off his aircraft right next to it.
