Videogeddon is a video game arcade featured in Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online.

Description[]

The business is located at the junction of Columbus Avenue and Emerald Street in Chinatown, Algonquin, and situated on the ground floor of a relatively old, 3-story brick building. Its most distinguishing feature is a large, ornate sign over its entrance which lights up at night, as well as various pixel artworks around its exterior walls, depicting characters and objects reminiscent to those from popular real-life platform video games, such as Super Mario Bros. The name of the arcade is an obvious combination of two words: "Video" and "Armageddon".

Although it is not present in Grand Theft Auto V, Videogeddon is one of the sponsors of the Go Go Monkey Blista which is given to the player after finding all the Monkey Mosaics.

In The Diamond Casino Heist update for GTA Online, a branch of Videogeddon at 744 Popular Street in La Mesa can be purchased by the player as an arcade business and nerve centre for the heist planning.

Influence[]

The branch is very likely inspired by GameWorks. In a Weazel News segment covering the events that transpired in "Ruff Rider", the reporter will mention that the arcade uses "cards instead of quarters", which is a clear reference to 'game cards' used by GameWorks and other big arcade branches.

Mission Appearances[]

In Grand Theft Auto IV, the Videogeddon is featured in the mission Ruff Rider when Niko is sent by Dwayne Forge to kill Jayvon Simson, who can be found outside the arcade with Cherise Glover. Other than this, the business plays no major role in the storyline.

In Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Chan Jaoming asks protagonist Huang Lee to meet him at the Videogeddon in the mission Slaying With Fire, where he is waiting on the roof with a Police Maverick. Again, the business plays no major role in the storyline.
