The WTF Center is a complex of buildings featured in Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.

Description

It is located in Castle Garden City, on the island of Algonquin.

Prominently depicted with three modern buildings with near-identical facades (two of which are skyscrapers), and a greenhouse-like atrium between the WTF Center's two towers, the WTF Center complex is clearly based on Manhattan's World Financial Center, specifically consisting of recreations of two World Financial Center, three World Financial Center, the New York Mercantile Exchange and the Winter Garden Atrium. None of the WTF's center's buildings are accessible, although the interior of the atrium, while obscured, is still visible.

Located on a shoreline, the WTF center is fronted by a marina where multiple boats typically spawn. A miniature outdoor garden is also located on the southern end of the complex.

The "WTF Center" name is derived from the signage of the northernmost building's northern parking entrance.

The real World Financial Center in Manhattan is across the street from the former World Trade Center, known now as "Ground Zero." All references to this location have been cut to prevent controversy and in order to not offend players after the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Trivia

  • The name of the complex is an obvious reference to an abbreviation of "what the fuck", commonly used in Internet shorthand, as well as the World Financial Center's "WFC" abbreviation.
