The Wheelchair is a very slow 'vehicle' in the GTA London games, Grand Theft Auto: London 1969 and Grand Theft Auto: London 1961. Its speed is just as fast as a pedestrian walking and is definitely not the best getaway vehicle. It can be spotted near hospitals. However an explosive-ridden wheelchair features predominately in one of the missions.
Other appearances
There is also an unusable wheelchair in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas located at the end of a dock/pier in Fisher's Lagoon. It has the same model texture as some trash dumpsters that can be found around the San Andreas. This wheelchair is most likely an easter egg.
Wheelchair-bound characters
A number of characters in the GTA series are or have been wheelchair users.
- Trev, a member of rock group The Ambulance in GTA Vice City Stories, is confined to a wheelchair after an accident.
- Johnny Sindacco is confined to a wheelchair in GTA San Andreas after a heart attack during the mission Fender Ketchup. He later dies when falling out of his wheelchair due to another heart attack during The Meat Business.
- Angus Martin is confined to a wheelchair in The Lost and Damned, after Billy Grey caused an accident that crippled him.
- Lester Crest uses a wheelchair in Grand Theft Auto V due to his health condition. However, when he can't use it, he uses a cane.
