William Edward "Bill" Fichtner is an American actor of a German ancestry.

Beginning his acting career in 1987 as Josh Snyder in the soap opera As the World Turns, Fichtner has an extensive filmography, including Contact, Heat, Armageddon, Go, Equilibrium, Black Hawk Down, The Perfect Storm, The Longest Yard, Crash, Ultraviolet, The Dark Knight and The Lone Ranger; for his role in Crash, Fichtner won a Screen Actors Guild Outstanding Performance Award and a "Best Acting Ensemble" Award from Broadcast Film Critics Choice.
