The Apple iPhone is a smartphone created by Apple. One Grand Theft Auto game, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, is available having been re-released due to relatively poor sales of the original Nintendo DS version of the game. Grand Theft Auto III: 10th Year Anniversary Edition and Grand Theft Auto Vice City: 10th Year Anniversary Edition, were released, as the name implies, for ten year anniversary for Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.[1]

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was quietly released onto the App Store at midnight on January 18th, 2010. The game features the same missions avaliable for the Nintendo DS and PSP versions. One difference is the lack of Rockstar Games Social Club - the bonus Xin missions, which were previously only avaliable after completing the main story line, locating the two Lions of Fo and syncing the device to Social Club, are now avaliable without the use of Social Club. A new radio station allowed players to use a custom radio tracklist from their iTunes. This version features the enhanced graphics of the PSP version released after the DS iteration, but re-introduces the touch screen functionality of the DS, replacing the quicktime events suplemented in the PSP port.

Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition

Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition was released for iOS devices on December 15th, 2011. The year 2011 marks the tenth year since Grand Theft Auto III was released. The game is essentially a port of Grand Theft Auto III with updated textures and resolution. Otherwise, there are no other obvious changes. Due to the iPhone lacking physical buttons, the developer of the port, War Drum Studios, supplies on-screen touch controls which can be remapped. The game was originally support the iPhone 4S but support has been added for the iPhone 4.
