Not to be confused with Castle Gardens, a different borough in Liberty City.
Castle Garden City is a neighborhood in southern Algonquin, Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto IV. It is bordered to the northeast by Garnet Street (The Meat Quarter); to the west and to the south by the West River; and to the east by Union Drive West (Suffolk, City Hall, and The Exchange).
Character
Castle Garden City is an upscale waterfront neighborhood, with many towering office buildings and high-rise apartments. The neighborhood can be separated into two sub-areas: a business district, centered around Castle Drive, and a residential marina, south of Castle Drive.
As with many of Algonquin's other waterfront neighborhoods, piers are a common sight in the neighborhood. Castle Garden City's piers are concentrated in the southern half of the neighborhood. Ferries connect Castle Garden City with Happiness Island.
Influence
Battery Park City serves as the entire inspiration for the neighborhood. From its location on a peninsula of sorts separated from the financial district of its city by a major street to it being named after a nearby neighborhood (Castle Gardens is to Castle Garden City as Battery Park is to Battery Park City), it's obvious as to what Castle Garden City is supposed to emulate.
Making the Battery Park City connection even more obvious is the presence of what appears to an imitation of the World Financial Center (as the WTF Center, complete with a replica of the famous Winter Garden) along the residential drive that branches off Castle Drive.
Transportation
The neighborhood is served by the Liberty City Subway system. The Feldspar station, which is actually located along Union Drive West, between Frankfort Avenue and Emerald Street, is served at all times by the A/J Algonquin Outer Line.
