The Coast Guard (also known as the Coastguard in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas) is a boat that is available for the player to use in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.
Description
Presumably designed to serve emergency services, the Coast Guard is reasonably fast, and has the ability to make sharp turns easily. The boat has some wooden construction, particularly in GTA Vice City, and often has first aid kits and life jackets inside as well. Although it may sound like it, there are no missions associated with this boat. It does, however, like other emergency vehicles, have a police radio. In GTA San Andreas, the Coast Guard is the boat used for the first two lessons in Boat School, which can be accessed at Bayside Marina in Bayside, Tierra Robada.
Locations
GTA Vice City
- Viceport, next to the docks just north of the freighter
GTA San Andreas
- Found in each dock surrounding Easter Bay International Airport in San Fierro
GTA Vice City Stories
- Washington Beach (only appears during the "Beach Patrol" side missions)
Trivia
- Although the Coastguard in GTA San Andreas is considered an emergency vehicle and has a police radio, you cannot perform the Vigilante sub-mission in it, possibly because the game doesn't know how to spawn criminals on water.
