The wanted level is cumulative, so selling 4 'ice creams' while under a one star wanted level nets a two star wanted level. The easiest way to lose the cops is when you have one star wanted level is to run away from the cops until it's gone or to use one of the nearby Pay 'n' Sprays, but if the player has more than one wanted it is very convinient to go to the Pay 'n' Sparays as more than one wanted level cannot be evaded without it. Local gangs (such as the Cubans, Haitians and the PIGs) will attack the Mr. Whoopee van if they see it. It is presumed this is because most gangs are involved in drug distribution and view Tommy as unwanted competition, although it isn't directly stated, making places like Little Havana and Starfish Island very inconvinient to sell 'ice cream' in. |

Distribution is a mission in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City which Tommy Vercetti performs independently. This is the only asset mission for The Cherry Popper Ice Cream Company and is triggered from the company's factory in Little Havana, Vice City.
Description
After purchasing the company for $20,000, Tommy Vercetti learns from the previous owner, Maude Hanson, that the company is actually a front and the "ice cream" sold is actually drugs. Seeing the opportunity in this, Tommy takes one of the company's ice cream vans and begins distributing the drugs through Vice City. After selling 50 "ice creams", whilst avoiding the attention of the police, the asset mission is completed.
Mission objectives
In order to complete the mission the player must:
- Use your Mr. Whoopee Van to distribute Cherry Poppers product around the city.
Tips
- The best place to sell the drugs is around Viceport, as numerous pedestrians spawn here and a Pay 'n' Spray is located here.
Notes
- This mission does not feature checkpoints, so the "ice creams sold" counter will be reset to zero if the player exits the ice cream van. Therefore, the fifty "ice creams" must be sold consecutively for the mission to be completed.
Reward
- Following completion of this mission, the Cherry Popper Ice Cream Company will generate a revenue of up to $3,000 a day. If the player owns at least seven assets, the penultimate mission Cap the Collector will be unlocked.
Trivia
- This mission format is a parody of the Cheech & Chong film Nice Dreams, where the main characters used to deal marijuana in an ice cream truck selling "Happy Herb's Nice Dreams".
- The basis of the mission is also a reference to the "Glasgow Ice Cream Wars" of the 1980s, whereby rival gangs distributed drugs throughout the city using ice cream vans.
