Dukes Boulevard Station is an inactive Liberty City Subway station located on Dukes Boulevard in East Island City, Dukes, in Grand Theft Auto IV and its episodes.

Description

The station is located along an LTA branch line that splits from the 3/8 Broker Line north of Huntington Street station. The stop possesses the standard side platform setup seen all over LTA's elevated train stations. It is the only stub/terminal station in the system which otherwise operates in a continuous loop. The station leaves the main line at a level cross; it would be possible for a train to reenter service towards either Francis International Airport or Huntington Street. Likewise a train coming from FIA (towards Huntington) or from Huntington St (towards the Airport) could terminate there.

According to signs posted on the street level gates of the station, the Dukes Boulevard station is closed as it is undergoing "works maintenance" and passengers must use another station. The closure is reinforced with the presence of fences, barricades, scaffolding and maintenance equipment on the platforms and lines. Because of this no revenue trains service the station, nor are there trains layed up at the station.

Curiously, in the Vlad Glebov mission "Clean Getaway", the subway train you take as part of the mission does stop at the Dukes Boulevard station. This may be due to the fact that this mission is one of the first in the game and the station has probably not been closed for renovations yet. Although you never actually see the train pull up there, you spawn on the platform after the subway ride cutscene ends. There also aren't any fences, maintenance signs, or equipment at the station in this mission (except for a police barrier on the opposite platform entrance), so that the station seems to be in use. The station is referred to by Vlad during the opening cutscene of the game as E.I.C. Station.

In Grand Theft Auto The Lost And Damned and Grand Theft Auto The Ballad Of Gay Tony on the disc, Grand Theft Auto Episodes From Liberty City the station is there and still inactive but there are no signs giving any information about why. Also on the platform and track there are no construction materials or any sign of life.

Trivia

  • The busker, that plays the saxophone at multiple subway stations around the city, and Niko can give $10 to, still appears at this station even though it is closed for maintenance.
  • In Clean Getaway, Vlad mistakes this station as the East Island City Subway Station.
