electrictit.com is a video sharing website featured on the in-game Internet in Grand Theft Auto IV. Some of the videos on the site are clearly pornographic, and have been "removed due to inappropriate content", and are therefore not available to the player. However, the player can still read the comments left by other users. The website is a parody of YouTube. However, the black background, the brightly coloured logo, and the overall design may also be references to the pornographic websites RedTube and Pornhub.
As of 2008, the website filed for bankruptcy. According to their main page, Electric Tit was sold to EyeFind for $22 billion two years prior. Consequently, their new leadership censored content across the platform, sparking a controversy which compelled many users to leave. Furthermore, many internet users failed to see their value as a promotional vehicle. [citation/verification needed]
Also, the website states that they were being sued by MeTV for copyright claims on certain videos. This mimics the lawsuits, in real life, between Viacom and YouTube. Viacom also owns MTV, which MeTV is a parody of.
Alexandra Chilton apparently wanted to put a home-taped sex video she made of herself and Niko Bellic on this website, but is waiting to find the right music to go with it.
In Grand Theft Auto V, Tracey De Santa mentions on her Lifeinvader page that she posted a video on the website confirming that the website is still in operation during 2013 when GTA V takes place. Despite this the website is not accessible by the player in the game.
The site's logo image depicts a type of movie camera, with the film spools of the camera bearing a resemblance to a pair of breasts.
