Controversy[]

The Episodes from Liberty City track titled "Kid Conga" by Daniel Haaksman featuring MC Miltinho was subject of a lawsuit by Brazil, which claimed this song featured an unauthorized sample of "Bota o dedinho pro alto", from the Brazilian composer Hamilton Lourenço da Silva; Lourenço da Silva also happens to be the father of MC Miltinho who was 8 years old at the time his vocals were recorded for the song. Although Rockstar gained permission to use the track, no approval was given by Lourenço da Silva himself.

The court ordered that all copies of the game for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC should be recalled from stores. The decision also states that if the game is not recalled in 48 hours, Rockstar Games should be billed in R$ 5,000.00 (approximately USD 3,125.00) per day. The copyright problem has since been resolved in 2012.

Trivia[]

  • The station appears to be pronounced "Electro-Shock", though Niko Bellic will pronounce the station's name phonetically.
  • Electro-Choc is one of eight radio stations in Grand Theft Auto IV and Episodes from Liberty City that doesn't play any commercials or news breaks, the others being The Beat 102.7, The Classics 104.1, Massive B Soundsystem 96.9, L.C.H.C. (EFLC only), Vladivostok FM (EFLC only), San Juan Sounds (EFLC only) and RamJam FM.
  • The main album version of "Animal" by Miike Snow was due to be featured on Radio Mirror Park in Grand Theft Auto V but was cut from the final version of the game.
    • According to the effects in the track, a capella of the "Animal" might be taken from Crookers remix of the song.
  • Electro-Choc is one of the radio stations in Grand Theft Auto IV and Episodes from Liberty City that did not have any songs removed during the 10 year license expire.
