The stores are located around Los Santos, San Andreas. The business has branches in Las Colinas, Willowfield, Downtown Los Santos, Verdant Bluffs, and Ganton. A shop in Willowfield has a gang tag on the side of it. None of the stores is accessible to the player and plays no role in the storyline whatsoever.
Influence[]
As indicated by the name, 98¢ Store can be assumed to be a parody of the real-life 99 Cents Only Stores (also branded as The 99 Store), an American price-point retailer chain that offers a combination of closeout branded merchandise, general merchandise and fresh foods at 99¢ or less.
The store can also be assumed to have a significant Spanish-speaking clientele, judging by the fact that part of the advertisement text on the store's exterior is in Spanish ("Aceptamos estampillas de comida" means "We accept food stamps [as payment]").
