The Screwdriver is a melee weapon featured in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. It is also featured only as a prop in Grand Theft Auto IV and only used to hotwire cars in Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.

The Screwdriver is a generic flat-blade screwdriver with a brownish handle, which Tommy uses in a similar manner to most bladed weapons. It is the second cheapest weapon in the Grand Theft Auto series, with the Baseball Bat costing only $5.

Despite its small size and seemingly harmless appearance, the Screwdriver is a fairly good melee weapon. The weapon uses a stabbing motion and can be used to stab victims or damage vehicles. It can kill pedestrians in 1-3 stabs and rarely attracts a wanted level. Targets may occasionally attempt to flee from the player once they are attacked, but they die after running a certain distance due to blood loss, making the Screwdriver a dangerous and subtle weapon.
Based on the files, it is one of the strongest melee weapons, even surpassing the Chainsaw (though, obviously, it does not have a continuous usage like the aforementioned weapon). Its range is identical to the Knife.

The Screwdriver, along with the MP5 and Hammer, are the only weapons that do not have a spawn point in the city and have to be purchased.
