Hi, I'm sorry for my bad english, I'm italian.

I bought GTA IV and I installed and activated it. When I started to play it asked me the connection to Rockstar Game Club, so I decided to uninstall it and reinstall without Window Game Live and Rock star club...

The uninstall give me an error of securom. I've tried to remove the activation, I've tried to remove securom, I've tried everithings. Now the setup seems to find the application, but the file in the hard disk are lost and if I try to run it the LaunchGTAIV.exe are missing.

So, I cannot install and I cannot uninstall!!!! How can I do? I have writed to securom support but they say me:

"It appears, according to the screenshots, that the application has been
uninstalled, however the cleanup of some files did not complete. You will
need to contact the software publisher, Rockstar Games, in regards to this
error".

Please can sombody help me?

I suggest you to go to to Control Panel - Uninstall a program. Choose GTA IV and Rockstar Social Club. In case they aren't there, make sure to delete manually everything from your Hard Disk (C - Program Files x86 - Rockstar Games -.... . Then install the game again, and choose to install Social Club. Since your game is genuine, I'd see no reason to not install it. It allows you to play multiplayer and more. Just go to rockstar social club site on google and make an account. Hope it helped.

Hi, thank you for replay, but I've alredy tried to uninstall from control panel, but the error is the same for securom, so I can not find the way to reinstal the game, with or without game online. Now I can not reinstall and I can not play and I can not uninstall. Thanks anyway

Do your Space\HDD\Storage meets the requirements and is that the genuine version of GTA IV

or is your PC able to play GTA IV? please post your Rig\Specs so we can continue to help furtherQuickscopa 03:00, September 1, 2012 (UTC)

Hi, now It's ok. It run. The rockstargame support advised me to use ccleaner to clean the registry.

To answer to your question, yes my cd is original game (perhaps with a pirated cd would not have happened), and the pc can play the game. I think that the problem is securom and I think too that they could make optional installation of rock star club and window live game. Now I have delete the automatic start of Rock star Game in the window run, I start it only if I play to GTA IV.

I don't understand why you don't want social club. You can play online.

Me too Social Club is awesome. btw i was even gonna make a Step by Step Image Tutorial to how to install GTA IV but i had the GTA IV Complete edition and you've got your problem fixed.

I don't know about social club. My GTA is not genuine. That's why I'll buy GTA V. I only support games I like. :)
