We currently have a lot of staff so there will be no more Patroller requests for a while. Current Patrollers may request to be promoted to Admin status by voting on the Requests for Promotion Page.

Featured Images

Hi guys. Basically, I think that we should take down the Featured Images section of the main page. I think this because I believe that it looks messy, boring and frankly, I never notice it. So yeah, I think it should be taken down. VaultBoy Tom (Talk | Edits) 16:55, August 8, 2013 (UTC)

Ladies and Gents. Dodo8 and I have here, the wiki's replacement to that redundant and old automated message. The Template:Welcome. This will get the wiki's contributors more interested in editing and will flourish a lot of trusted editors, let alone Staff. The status of the staff member should be written under his name, to let any user know who to contact form staff members. A lot of wikis have done this thing, one of them is the Battlefield Wiki, see there staff.

  • It is what it is. If a user needs help and messages a semi-active staff member, then the whole purpose of the staff is pointless. The user doesn't get help, and if a semi active alert was in place, that user would get a quick response from an active staff member. Why cripple the system? Lets improve it! Adding flags to the different language GTA Wikis

Affiliations to R* games' Wikis

This is a big project, like Rockstar Games has been developing games for more than ten years, Rockstar made a lot of fans around the world. Most of the users here on the GTA Wikia integrate with other Wikis too, most of them are from R* games. I'm giving the idea, that we should make affiliations to Wikis that are from Rockstar content. They are so good like us and most of our users, even Staff members, contribute to those Wikis, I'm proposing, that we should show our loyalty to these Wikis and that will maybe make us more noted by the other Wikis. The proposes are the Max Payne Wiki, Red Dead Wiki, Rockstar Games Wiki, L.A Noire Wiki, Bully Wiki, Manhunt Wiki and Midnight Club Wiki.

Note : If you want to strike one of the Wikis that you disagree with affiliation or you find not good or elevated, comment in the comments section and maybe we can create an extra discussion page for it. So let's show that we are a graceful Wiki and we want to show generosity to other R* Games too.

I love the idea of linking up all the R* games wikis as that will create a great network for fans to easily navigate from on to another. Great proposal of killing seven birds with on stone.   • Nice idea Rhem. I completely agree with it. I just want to notice it that this template should be locked and only staff members can use it if they become inactive.       • Although the votes have all been positive so far, I think there should be at least 5 votes before closing this. If the templates are approved, I'll lock them. So yes, I'm bringing this subject again, as it seems we have forgotten about. My one question for now is, do you want such feature on our wiki or not?

Yes, I know we need 'Manuals of Style' for several articles categories such as characters, missions, buisnesses, gangs/groups and a few more. No need for vehicles, J created one.

If you have any suggestions, post them here.

  • I think it would help readers if the articles for a certain discipline (i.e character, business) had a similar structure, so they can find information easily and conveniently, this is one benefit of having manuals of style. In order to help editors, having one over arching MoS that then contains links to more specific ones, sort of like this (but more complete obviously) could help.   • Yes of course, in each discipline/type this system should be followed, principally by missions. I see often the Trivia after the Video Walkthrough and etc... A order like =1. Mission, 2. Mission Objectives, 3. Reward, 4. Trivia, 5. Video W., 6. See also (References and link to detailed page of mission walkthrough) for example.   • Sorry for not being around and not keeping my promises, I'm not active everyday, due to no Internet connection at my residence. For the Template:Welcome, I wrote the coding of a boarder outline on a piece of paper, which I keep on forgetting when I go to my town's public library once every week. And for the core Manual of Style; I'm working on it using paper. Once I learn to not forget my papers, I write the template coding on my Sandbox page and test it, whilist the MoS will be on here, the Community Noticeboard. Mr. T., That's Me! Thanks to the entire community

This for once is not a voting matter, but an act of pure gratitude to the entire community. After notifying everyone of my holiday and absence the response was truly heart-warming. After reading all the comments I almost had a tear in my eye at how strong our community stands and how friendly and understanding our community is. Honestly, I don't know of an internet community that I'm as proud to be a part of as the GTA Wiki community. Thank you everyone. Warning and block templates

Now, this template idea I've come up with would benefit patrollers mostly. Lately, when such a patroller gives a user a warning most say ''I'm going to tell a admin on you'' etc and to me it sounds childish and not very professional but with this template, it's not only professional but it's a smart way to carry out such things.   • Yes I agree, but this template should be given in certain occasions. If a user (vandal) remove all the content from pages repetitively, then he should be blocked without warning.   • I've changed the color of the border to yellow, and I have also replaced "denying" with "violating". I was thinking we should have a "Blocked" template too, where the vandal will be informed that he was blocked.Dodo8 Talk

  • This template or both template needs section which rule did the user violated. For example this user violated offcial policy for adding sexuall content, but he/she needs to know which rule did he/she breake.

  • Nice, both templates. I just think there should be a different template exclusive for image policy, because it's a different case where most of new users still not understanding. If he violates the image policy, he should receive the image policy template, if repeated, the warning template. Actually I think that new users will feel a little afraid if they are threatened with a block because of image policy.   • It was not silly because image policy is an error that every new user does at the begin. This happens more than two or three times and it would be a little bit rude if we block someone for such a thing without a right and clear information. Secondly, I think you are a bit confuse: "argument" in english also means "zanga, discussão" in portuguese, whereas "argumento" in portuguese means "point" (as in "That's a good point").
