You may apply for Rollback Rights or Administrator privileges on this noticeboard. To do so, you must meet the prerequisites, and then state what position you are looking for and why you think you need the rollback and/or administrator tools.

Requests for Checkuser and Revision Delete must be done at Community Central (and they will probably be declined).

Patrollers are given the Rollback tool that allows users to quickly revert vandalism. They are also given Chat moderator rights that allow them to kick and ban users from the wiki's chat.

Administrators have the power to block and ban users, protect pages, move images, and delete pages and images, in addition to rollback.

To qualify for rollback rights, editors must have been active for two months with no rules violations. Rollbackers must receive a 60% 'yes' percentage to be promoted. Users who apply within three months of joining will face a three month probationary period. This may also apply in situations such as inexperience or users who were previously demoted. At the end of the three months a review will be made by Bureaucrats and Administrators to determine whether or not the user will retain their rights.

To qualify for administrator rights, editors must have been active patrollers for four months with no rule violations. Administrators must receive a 70% 'yes' percentage to be promoted. Those applying for adminship will likely be asked questions on how they deal with certain situations. This is to see if a user has the capabilities of being an administrator.

Editors with rollback and administrator experience on other wikis are encouraged to apply, and based on the editor in question exceptions may be made to the length of time editing required for promotion.

When applying for promotion, a community vote will take place. Voting lasts 7 days, although it may be allowed to run shorter (in the case of an obvious pass/fail) or longer (in the case of a very close vote) at bureaucrat discretion. Only bureaucrats should close votes.

Application users who are caught tampering with other users votes, such as changing a no to a yes, will have their request closed immediately.

While I have no proper privileges or experience for adminship, as I've been here for quite a long while aside from the mistakes I've committed, I'm wondering if I'm best suited as a rollback for GTA Wiki, considering as how I've been doing edits pretty well on a daily basis, even if it resulted in revisions. Again, I'm not fit to be an admin (as I've been an admin back then from another Wikia, but demoted myself due to lack of efforts) so a rollback will do if you approve of it.   • Even with your edits and quite the experience, I don’t see you being worthy as a patroller if you even consider yourself not suitable to be an admin. Also, it is vital for a Staff member to follow the policies, particularly the media policy, something which, in my opinion, is lacking for your promotion. No offense, but not yet.   • You have been a reasonably active user on this wiki, and I believe that you are able to perform as a Patroller. However, as "Thegtaseeker96" has stated, you must ensure that you follow our Media Policy when you upload images, as the last few images that you uploaded fail in this respect. I will wait for the opinions of other Staff and/or community members before I make my decision on whether you should or should not become a Patroller. Until then I am neutral.     • After reading the comments of other Staff members and an experienced former Bureaucrat, I am afraid that, at least for the time being, you cannot become a Patroller. Though it was, as "McJeff" said, a long time ago, starting and carrying on "flame wars" is not a good sign of a good Staff member, and while I believe that you have changed since then, that blip, along with your bad Media Policy compliance, has convinced me that you cannot become a good Staff member at this point in time. However, if you improve your contributions and show that you can follow our policy - and in particular the Media Policy - better, you can certainly apply again and pass.   • I remember blocking you from Bully Wiki when you and another user decided to export a flame war from some other wiki to BW. That was a long time ago, but taking your lack of substantial contributions to this wiki into account, it's enough to push me over into 'no' from 'not yet.'     • I know my comment won't change your mind, though the reason behind this was because a troll user had been jumping one Wikia to the next and create childish insults against me. I'll admit that me, retaliating wasn't a smart idea, though he claimed that he'd change his IP to evade a global ban by Wikia, which turned out to be false and was dealt with. The last few months have been quite a bitch in short, but in a few weeks, I'm sure I'll be over the moon, and a promotion of this level would really fuel it. I don't need to explain myself, you all know what I do around here, whether you hate me or like me, I'm here, and that's that :P

All I want is for you to be honest, really, I really don't mind if you vote no, and considering what Sean thought of me back in summer 2015, I really don't know if I'm actually suitable for this role

I noticed the Wiki's looking for staff lately. So here I am. Applying after my resignation. I'm back. Because A) I have more time now, and B) I feel safe here.

You know the drill. You know, I'm a grammar freak of some sort xD not to be TOO active due to school and whatnot, but hell, if I can be Patroller, that'd be great. Of course, I'll visit and check up more than I'll edit, in case shit's going crazy.

Hello everyone. How was the new year?

Well, as you guys know, after seeing Doc's resignation and after thinking about it, I decided to apply for the admin position.

Well, you guys know something about me. I'm Camilo, or Cam for short. As you can see, my activity focuses mostly on checking pages and doing some cleanups lately (especially the Design Gallery as a task from Monk). So yeah, I'm not specialized on something particular, but more like an extra that, despite not playing GTA lately, I'm still here for the patroller duty.

My reasons to be an admin is basically the idea of rename images with bad names and any kind of deletion in the wiki, since, as you can see, any kind of rename I simply ask Monk for said purpose. Since I'm not specialized in solving problems here, especially from bad users, I would make a mistake with the tools and, well, being considered "trigger-happy" (if it's the correct term). I'm sure that, with the help of the staff, I would correct this issue in no time, so I'll be fine. Of course, I can detect any clear sight of vandalism, so I understand the basic patroller's task learned from the start.

Flaws? Well, you know that my grammar is a common issue, so if you think it's problematic, there's no problem on say "no". I know I don't speak English in my country by default and you guys said that is unfair to hold someone's grammar, but I'm still worried that this would affect on my promotion (as well as any other reasons to not apply).

    • Let me say thank you guys for the support in this promotion. Just let me say that, in order to avoid any kind of issue, I'll avoid using the block tool until I get enough experience to use it wisely (unless there's something too obvious). Of course, I'll stick with the rule of "3 warnings = block" and "only the third block can be infinite". Hi, my name is MythHunter 007, and I'm requesting to be a patroller on this wiki. I have + 510 edits, and I've been active on this wiki for two months. And I know a-lot about coding templates. I'm trying to be friendly with everyone. I have been playing GTA for six years now, so I know alot about the series. I own GTA III, GTA VC, and GTA SA.   • I feel that you are a good contributor to this wiki, as well as worthy eventually of becoming a Patroller, but you have yet to make adequate use of your rights. As Marcus suggested to me during my first, withdrawn request for promotion to Patroller, you should start showing that you have the right stuff to be a Patroller by notifying me or other members of Staff if you notice a user in violation of the policies of this wiki, and also by issuing Image Policy reminders to users who have violated the Media Policy for the first time. Hey,

So, after numerous (over 6 as far as I remember) suggestions from my fellow wiki friends, I've decided to (finally) apply for Administrator. It's to remember that Andre was one of my favorite friends and my main thanks go to him :)

Hopefully, you all know me by now (It's a doubt you won't, considering how active I am lol). Basically, I'm Monk, known as the brains for the vehicles of this wiki. I edit daily, very active, which I consider another advantage to being an admin. I'm constantly upgrading and improving articles, mostly vehicles, to get the best, most accurate information out of them. I deeply thank anyone who supports me with this, as I'm often referred to as the "car" guy here xD

My work? Well, A LOT. As I said, I work on vehicle articles, therefore I'm constantly collecting data, whether that be speeds, acceleration times, or prices, etc. I'm also constantly using my own knowledge to further upgrade vehicle design and performance descriptions, as well as engine specs, details, and imagery. As well as this, I often link my template work to vehicles. Recently, I completed this, which, prior to working on a long time project found here, was suggested by a member of the community (as you may know, I'm very considerate to what community want and how I can work around it to improvise or fit any regulations, etc), where the initial idea was to implement an imaged-table of vehicles for the Vehicles in GTA V article. AS well as all that, I've being so active that, I've even managed to be the creator of many DLC vehicle cars, such as those as part of the Ill-Gotten Gains Part 2 DLC, the Toro, Brawler, T20, etc, and I've added more than 100 video files, many of those being the official soundtracks of GTAV/Online (which, btw, I had to create articles from, and had full permission from the owners to do so). I also consider many of my projects as a huge success, thanks to other users too. Er, what else? Oh yeah, grammar. I think, even despite my major memory loss, accident, problems, etc, my grammar has really improved and I rarely make mistakes, so you can trust me (well, you can trust me, not my tablet, whom makes a ton of typos xD).

On from that, I created a largely-favored To Do List, which, I consider one of my main projects, it being part of the "GTA Wiki:" articles xD.

Now, why do I think I should be admin? Well...

I've finally concluded that, as I do say myself, I've learnt a lot this year. I think (and so do others) I've really improved here, whether that be attitude, contributions, or general likeness received from others. I've made my mistakes, I'm not afraid to admit, in fact, I think my attitude was awful when I first joined, so I just hope we can all put that in the past (to be exact, Archive 1 xD), and move on. I want to fill the gap Andre's left us, and hope to impress you all in the future. I think my activeness here will really benefit my chances of being a successful admin, so I can constantly be on the ball, ready for any vandals, rude users, or just general renaming or deleting of articles.

TAlim 1994 - Patroller (re-application)

Good day, I wish to re-apply for the position of Patroller. My reasons remain the same as my last application, and I only wish to add two other notes: firstly, as per the advice of other Staff members, I have attempted to take a more active role as a policy enforcer since my last application, and I have issued several Image Policy reminders to the appropriate users; secondly, I have now (at the time of writing this message) made 1,097 edits on this wiki (including the creation of one new page), approximately double the number of edits made since my previous application.

You're going to be a good staff member for the warning and dispute-side of things, but in order for this to be successful, I really think you'll need to become more active so you can be fully aware of these issues. Myth hunter - Patroller

Until last month when I got inactive due to exams, I was regularly active here. And since my exams are over now I will be active here as much as I can. I clearly understand all the policies of the wiki. I have around 1500 edits. I was previously a patroller here but failed my probation due to inactivity as I was having connection issues. I have experience of handling staff positions on some other wikis also. I always try to be a civil user. So, I wish to become a patroller here and keep the wiki free from any vandals and rule violations. As I was previously demoted I will have to do a 2 months probation even if I am successful, so please vote Yes if you want me to be a patroller here and No if you do not want me to be a patroller. Hello everyone! Following Leo68's suggestion I've decided to apply for one of the two vacant Patroller positions. I'm sure most of the users don't know me properly, but I have been editing here since I joined in March 2014, with a total of 3834 edits until now (just a few got reverted by other users). Regarding my work, I'd say that I've been working specially on GTA V articles, revamping a lot of street pages with more pictures/description/map locations and also creating new ones, but now I'm currently focused on business pages, replacing bad and unlicensed pics and adding needed logos. I still contribute fixing, linking or doing some cleanups on random pages that I see around the wikia. About me, I try my best to be civil, calm and respectful with the others and to keep out of edit wars. As a patroller, I will also teach other users about the policies and protect the Wiki from vandals. I hope you consider my efforts when voting. Thanks for reading this! TAlim 1994 - Patroller

Good day sir/madam, I have an interest in the position of Patroller on this wiki. I have been active since 25 May 2015 on this wiki, but have been editing since 18 December 2012 (on Halo Nation), though I have been most active on this wiki. I have made 511 edits (at the time of writing this message) since joining this wiki: mostly minor spelling or grammatical corrections (a few of these edits were made within a short period of time to the same page due to missed errors in my earlier edit(s)), and a relatively small number of more major page changes. I have not had any warnings and/or blocks, and as far as I am aware, only two of my edits (excluding my personal templates) to date have been undone: one due to ignorance of context, the other due to a contentious trivia article which I am currently seeking to discuss with "RainingPain17" (see my Talk page for more information regarding these reversions). I also seek to help other users where possible. On a personal note, I am keen on the idea of being an observer/arbitrator, as I intend to study to qualify as a lawyer, and I regard this as a test of sorts. I hope that you will approve.     • To "MarcusCheeKJ": Is not the purpose of a probationary promotion to give the one being promoted a chance to prove himself/herself? As I have already mentioned in my general comment above, I do not remind people of policy due to my lower rank, and I am reluctant to sound overly domineering for my rank. Perhaps it is due to my family culture, which has a strong Japanese influence, even though my family are mostly Chinese, but I am always somewhat reluctant to seek out and "antagonize" my peers or superiors, unless the misdemeanor is severe and obvious. As for reverting edits, the reason why I have not done any is simple: I have yet to encounter any obvious cases which require reverting. In addition, I am worried that I may accidentally revert useful edits, as I do not know exactly when the bad edit was made, and it is not necessarily the most recent one. Hi everyone! I'm Marcus, and I have decided to apply for patroller on this wiki with the recommendation of some of the staffs here. Though I have not been a patroller in any wiki, but I have been a student leader in my school. Leadership is required for postions like these, as for a student leader, you have to use your leadership to lead the school, while you need to use your leadership to lead the wiki in the right direction and prevent vandalism when you are a staff in this wiki. This is what I am determined to do when I become a patroller, and I'll use my tools wisely. Apart from protecting the wiki from vandalism, I would always keep my promise to continue to work on projects that I have not completed (for e.g. Transcripts in GTA IV). Hello everybody. With the recently resignation of Messi1983 and promotion of Smashbro8, I decided to send my request to become the next admin. I don't think I have to introduce myself, since all members of the staff already know me and most of the wikia users (at least the more active ones) too. I have been on this wikia for almost two years now, I have been contributing with the creation of a lot of pages, some minor cleanups and formatting to make the articles more "presentable". I have been less active for the past month, thanks to some personal problems, but I should be back full time now. Despite my lack of active recently, I still make daily visits to the wikia to see if everything is in check. I want to become a admin for multiple reasons, the tools would definetely help me adit this wikia more efficiently, I also would be able to deal with vandals or problematic users better, and so on. Hi everyone and fellow wiki friends. After seeing the resignation of one of our earliest bureaucrats, I decided to send this request to be a bureaucrat and help lead the wiki the correct way. Over the few months of me being an admin, I did become less active in actually editing pages, but I continue to show up here everyday to make sure the wiki is running smoothly. I feel as a bureaucrat, I could help the community much more than as an admin, and welcome thousands of new users to the GTA Wiki. Leave your votes and comments below.   • Everybody here knows that he is my friend but that's not the sole reason, it's because, out of the five admins, Jamal is really the best one, considering that he always block troublesome users and rename/delete pages, he has been the best admin since his promotion, I think he deserves it more than all the others. It has been put forward that Messi1983 is to be demoted to patroller due to being too inactive to take part in his duties.   • Dan still visits regularly and with the number of extremely active staff we now have, there isn't a lot for him to be seen actively doing. That doesn't mean he's not still willing to perform the duties, just that everyone else is beating him to the punch.   • As Leon (I think) suggested, I'd postpone this until 1 August, which would be two months from Dan's inactivity status date. Following my previous experience of demotion situations, I'm treading a lot more carefully this time around, as I don't want to feel like I've "hounded out" staff members.   • For the past couple of months, Messi contributions almost exclusive boils down to edits in his user page or leaving messages to other users. He honestly doesn't strike me a someone who wants to keep contributing to this wikia all that much. (But that's just my interpretation of the situation, it doesn't mean I'm right) Regardless, I don't think that we should give him a free pass, just because the other members of the staff are already doing a good job in keeping this wikia on a good state. If he is not willing to contribute to this wikia all that much, theres a lot of other users who are, and keeping this users away from becoming patrollers or admins just because one single bureaucrat absence is not missed by the others sounds unfair to me.   • I don't want to sound harsh or anything, but I have edited here from since August 2013. From that point on to now, Messi hardly ever edited or used his rights. I honestly feel he doesn't take interest in the wiki as a bureaucrat should. Sure he's said he'd show up more often when Tom had given the wiki over to Vault Boy, which he did, but shortly went back to being inactive. I feel the wiki can run smoothly on two bureaucrats and I even wouldn't mind being a b'crat here.   • Dan isn't active enough to be a Bureaucrat, maybe he could move to Patroller, but when I spoke to Tom around the time he was moved to inactive, the decision would be wait until August 1, so that Dan could make a decision. If we reopen the vote again in August I'd vote in favour if his activity didn't pick up. As stated, he doesn't edit pages, just his user page and talk pages. Leo68 (talk) 18:23, June 19, 2015 (UTC)
  • I am not going to vote, because Dan (Messi) is a good friend of mine. I have no intention of voting to demote him, but I'm not neutral and my vote wouldn't be fair to the community. I did however remove VaultBoy's statement about this vote being open only to staff. Staff only votes should only happen in very, very specific instances, and anyway Wikia Staff wouldn't accept this discussion if it were staff only even if it does pass. Bureaucrats aren't just allowed but supposed to use their better judgment when it comes to things like possible troll or meatpuppet/sockpuppet votes, so that's not a reason to make a vote staff only. Also, remember that this is not a majority vote, since this is a bureaucrat vote it would need a 70% "demote" margin for him to be demoted. Jeff (talk·stalk) 03:29, June 20, 2015 (UTC)
  • I've just looked on the Staff page and the inactive staff section states that bureaucrats and administrators who go inactive are automatically demoted to patroller by policy - no community vote required.       • Bureaucrats can't demote other bureaucrats. They can promote and demote chat mods, patrollers and administrators, but can only demote themselves. So to get a bureaucrat demoted you need to ask Wikia Staff to do it. Wikia Staff won't unless they believe "community consensus" exists to do so - in other words there needs to be a large majority of people in favor of demoting. Over on Bully Fanon Wiki they made us keep a discussion open for 2 weeks over whether to demote the inactive bureaucrat who hadn't logged in for 2 years.
        I also noticed that VaultBoy demoted most of the inactive administrators/patrollers against policy and without holding a discussion on whether to do so, fwiw. Jeff (talk·stalk) 19:17, June 21, 2015 (UTC)

Hello everyone, I am Myth hunter and I want apply for Patroller position on this wiki. I am regularly active here(Not edit regularly because I was a little busy this month but visit the wiki everyday). Chat moderating is also a part of Patroller and I am regularly available at chat. I have a good experience of being a patroller. I know how to use the tools. So, I would like to be promoted to protect the wiki from vandalism. - Myth hunter(Talk)

    • Oh, I forgot about to tell about that ban in September. It was lifted the next day I was blocked. LSVault blocked me because I added some information on a wiki from GTA Wiki. At that time I didn't know about the plagiarism rule. I removed the info I added and talked to Vault and my block was lifted.Myth hunter
