The general soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories comprises radio stations that broadcast music and information to Liberty City in 1998. Because GTA Liberty City Stories is set in the same location as Grand Theft Auto III, only three years earlier, some of the radio stations featured are seen as earlier incarnations of the radio stations in GTA III, while other listed stations and radio shows have ceased broadcasting by GTA III's timeline. Unlike Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and in a similar manner to GTA III, most songs were either original creations for the game by Rockstar or are in the public domain.
Also unlike GTA San Andreas, the radio stations featured in GTA Liberty City Stories are not dynamic, consisting once again of a single, looped audio file with the music, commercials, DJ commentary etc. repeated in the same order. The only exceptions are the "Liberty News" bulletins which play once, and once only, following major events in the game.
Nonetheless, the GTA Liberty City Stories radio system maintains elements of continuity with both GTA III and GTA San Andreas, with some DJs and callers reappearing from earlier games. For example, Richard Burns, the journalist for WCTR in GTA San Andreas, phones into LCFR. Another change is that some radio stations have a different DJ, which is noticeable in Lips 106, with Andee being the co-host to the older Cliff Lane. By GTA III, however, Andee is the sole DJ of the station.
There are 10 in-game radio stations in GTA Liberty City Stories. Please select a station to jump to its section.

Liberty City Free Radio[]
Liberty City Free Radio (LCFR) is a talk radio station consisting of several programmes:
- Heartland Values with Nurse Bob
- Electron Zone Radio
- Breathing World
- Coq O Vin
- Chatterbox
Liberty News[]
- After completing certain missions in the game, the first time Toni enters a vehicle and listens to the radio, a Liberty News bulletin will play regardless of the station, featuring an unnamed female newscaster reporting the event and sometimes announcing news headlines, like the opening of the Shoreside Lift Bridge into Shoreside Vale and the destruction of Fort Staunton. These bulletins play only once, but will repeat if the player gets wasted or leaves the vehicle when driving.
Other Songs[]
The following songs are used in cutscenes only:
- Bugz in the Attic – "The Heist" (2005) - A remix of Grand Theft Auto III's theme, used in the Introduction.
- Sonia Slany – "Japanese Geisha" (2004) - Used in the missions Cash in Kazuki's Chips and More Deadly Than the Male.
Commercials[]

Glitches[]
- If the player leaves and re-enters a vehicle, the radio will jump to a different part of the programming. This can be most prominently noticed when listening to LCFR.
- Under some circumstances on the mobile port, including if an NPC driven vehicle falls into water, all radio stations will go silent with the exception of Mix Tape and stay silent until the player dies or starts a mission.
