"Gruppe Sechs provides private security services and offers failed cops a second chance to enforce the law on their own terms."
―Description at

Gruppe Sechs (or Gruppe 6) is a private security company featured in the Grand Theft Auto franchise since Grand Theft Auto III, with the exception of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The player can buy stocks from them at the website in Grand Theft Auto V.

Gruppe Sech (German for "Group Six") is based on both the infamous British security company G4S (formally known as Group 4 Securicor), although the company can be seen as the equivalent to American security companies such as Brinks. Their main vehicle, the Securicar, is a play of the company's name (Securicor).

Since Grand Theft Auto IV, the company's written logo is changed to "Gruppe 6", although this would still translate to "Gruppe Sechs" in German, and the company's vehicles still feature "Gruppe Sechs" logo in much smaller print on various surfaces. The key diagram has been changed into a padlock in a green shield-shaped figure, with the same padlock resembling a number 6 on it.

As indicated by markings on the Securicar, Gruppe Sechs have partnered with the Bank of Liberty, and is "licensed and authorized" to use deadly force. However, they never use deadly force and do not become hostile to the player in Grand Theft Auto IV. In Grand Theft Auto V, they will open fire on the player if they attack a Stockade.

3D Universe

Gruppe Sechs does not seem to appear in any of the 3D Universe games, as the Securicars are normally driven by generic pedestrians and does not have any kind of threat towards the player by stealing the vehicle, apart of the usual threatening from drivers to get their vehicle back or the wanted level for stealing it in front of the police.

Grand Theft Auto IV

In Grand Theft Auto IV, it is the same case, where Securicars are used by civilians and there is no sign of "deadly force" when the player steals it. However, they will be pursued by the LCPD if they destroy the vehicle with a weapon.

Gruppe Sechs guards exist in the game, but they are only used in the multiplayer mode Bomb Da Base II.

Grand Theft Auto V

Gruppe Sechs remains in Grand Theft Auto V, this time appearing driving the corresponding Stockades and will attempt to protect the vehicle from robbers. Gruppe Sechs are more prominent in the game, as they provide security on major facilities and security cameras with the Gruppe 6 logo can be seen.

In Grand Theft Auto IV, Gruppe Sechs personnel wear a green shirt with the Gruppe Sechs logo embroidered onto the right sleeve while the U.S. flag is on the left sleeve. They wear a bulletproof vest accompanied with a radio and a belt, which includes a weapon holster. They wear dark green trousers with a green stripe down the side and black shoes.

For Grand Theft Auto V, there are two types of uniform for Gruppe Sechs employees:

  • Security guards, as seen in places such as the Richards Majestic, wear a white shirt with green trousers accompanied with a radio and a belt, which includes a weapon holster, black shoes and a tan cap carrying the Gruppe Sechs logo.
  • Drivers wear the same uniform as in GTA IV, but they now wear black trousers with a different stripe down the side. Now they have ID cards attached to their belts and some will have helmets with protection screens, which is always folded up.

  • Upon completion of Fresh Meat, Gruppe Sechs stock will rise by approximately 11.17%. The reason for this is not clear, but players can secure a sizable profit by loading up on this stock prior to starting the mission. However the stock value of Merryweather Security, its chief competitor, does not appear to be affected.
  • Upon completing The Third Way, Gruppe Sechs stock will rise again, this time for an approximate 10.8% return on investment.

  • "Gruppe Sechs" may be play of the phrase "group sex", as part of Rockstar's adult humour.
  • The slogan appears to sound similar to the expression "Putting you insecure".
  • Their logo of a padlock is meant to be a parody of the number 6, and is incorporated into their company name just like G4S, their real life counterpart.

Grand Theft Auto V

  • The De Santa residence is protected by Gruppe 6 Armed Response, as well as various mansions. They are never seen defending the house, even when it is raided by Merryweather.
  • There is a Gruppe Sechs padlock in a container in Fort Zancudo.
  • The Gruppe Sechs security uniform is unlocked for Michael and Trevor if the player finishes the Big Score using the Subtle approach. No matter what type of approach the player choose, the uniforms are still available.
  • There are Gruppe Sechs surveillance cameras on most of the stores, gas stations and businesses around Los Santos, including Lester Crest and Michael's house.
  • If the player calls Merryweather for Air Support in GTA Online, Gruppe 6 men will come in an unarmed Buzzard.
  • In Grand Theft Auto V, Gruppe 6 security guards are unique from other NPCs in that they can survive headshots from weaker weapons such as the Pistol.
